I received a cheque for £65 this morning from A&L for overcharge m.e.a.f. yippee! That's going in the mortgage piggy. Every time I save up £500 I pay off another unit on my little chart.
I seriously recommend doing this m.e.a.f. thing, I never thought I would get any money as I swapped my mortgage over around 1999-2000 so I didn't think it applied to me, also I didn't have a scrap of paperwork, account number, anything (didn't tell them that though
) I get the feeling they are just coughing up and are paying ex customers as a matter of course.
Good old Martin comes up trumps again!

That is brilliant news about the MEAF we swapped over in 2002 but looking at my old mortgage there was a £150 fee which they would waive if I took out a product with the same lender. I cant see anything on my "new" mortgage and we went with Woolwich via Barclays so don't think I paid anything. I have nagged my in-laws to claim as they paid their off last year.
Just finished the work on the fence plus a new gate £1125 later but it does look nice. Had the bathroom company come our earlier just waiting for the quote. It will be an all in quote but I just know it will be expensive. If we go with having the work done the MFi3 maybe in serious risk but I hope we can manage. Will let you know when I get the quote later this week if I don't faint.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I wonder whether the Fed rate cut will prompt the UK to follow suit. Certainly the MFW's are probably in the best position to weather a downturn than those who've invested more heavily instead.
A uk rate cut wont help me though I'm fixed as I can't afford rates going up.MFi3 member 105 - MFW date Oct 2023 - 12 years 9 months more0 -
That's it! My report - all 19 pages of it - is submitted! Chew on that, you senior social worker you!!!! What's that got to do with MFi3 I hear you ask? Hopefully after the panel next week (Wed 11 am if anyone's up for sparing us a thought or prayer at that time) I'll be able to get back to work soon (3 months if not more - nlol) and OH will be able to cut down his hours and we can both start to breath again!

Well done Superfast_Gran.
That report - hope you made a copy of it... why?
So that you can roll it up and use it to hit the social worker around the head with. Its a great stress buster and calorie burner at the same time.
Good luck next week.Gordon Brown ate my hamster0 -
Well done superfast_gran with the report, hope everything works out for you.
Congrats everyone else as well. DH is getting more and more involved with my (I should say 'our' now I suppose) MFi3 quest. But I worked out that to finish the quest on time, I have to make payments of around £1630 every month! DH picks up £1530 and I'll be picking up about £300 a month for the next few months. Something tells me I need a job quick!0 -
Anyone keeping a close eye on this challenge, the key word being close
, will notice that as of today, we’ve dropped another leading digit.
We’ve got a mere 2 years, 2 months and 9 days remaining, or in pure numbers, only 799 days remaining :eek::eek:

Just to let you know a few weeks ago on your new letter you said about claiming back the fee when you pay your mortgage up...I claimed back 100% of the fee from the BBBS which was £235 just by sending your letter
thanks so much
