    Hi Tg,

We had a couple of Bogus transactions go through a Woolwich account that we hardly used. It was lucky we noticed them. Woolwich just reversed them and we never heard anything else. Do you think it has anything to do with the lost card? It's all abit worrying though. Such alot of money too. :oGood Luck

Your CC provider should have credited to you straight away and then investigated. You should have no problem getting money back. If its in Euros is that actually spent in Europe or online? If it was a transaction out of the country you can always prove it wasn't you by your passport.

AD - congratulations! Great to have money coming in again, hope you enjoy the job too!

Tallgirl - yikes, thats a *lot* money..... Hopefully your own record of your own movements can prove that it wasn't you. Let us know how it goes.

    Have a good weekend all!
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Hi everyone!

At least this weekend we can get on here again! What a week - cat had to have a second op on Monday as part of her skin had died and gone pus-y (as in infected not cat-like :rotfl: )

Anyway it was worse than they thought and she now has a second wound the whole length of her body. This seemed to inflame the orginal wound so we have had 3 trips to the vet this week  to keep an eye on it. Anyways last night they said it was better than expected so paws crossed she is finally on the mend.

I will update on the challenge when I work out my figures for this month but just wanted to say:

SFG - moan away - sometimes it is necessary and it sounds like your having a real hard time of it at the minute. It's hard to be positive when things aren't going well but sometimes they don't go well until you feel positive if you get what I mean - hope it all picks up soon.

AD - Well done with the job - good to have some more money coming in!

TG - I had my credit card cloned twice for internet transactions - about £200 in all. No idea what it was but I phoned up mastercard and they sent me some forms out to sign to say I hadn't made those transactions. When they received the forms they put the money back on my card while they investigated and then wrote to me a few months later saying they were satisfied I hadn't made them and that was the case closed. Hi MMC - sorry to hear about the problems your cat has been having. She really seems to have been through the mill doesn't she? I hope she soon starts to improve.

I have had a quiet week or so. I've been taking my lunches to work, so I haven't been spending too much unneccesary cash. DS has strted to take sandwiches to school now that he isn't on 'early lunches' and has to queue with the rest of the school. The discipline of making sure his butties are made makes me think about my own lunch so they both get sorted out at the same time. I'm also trying to lose at least some of the stone-or-so I have put on in the last year so I am trying really hard to eat healthily.

I have had a big clear-out and took a few bags of rubbish to the local tip, as well as quite a few more bags to a selection of local charity shops. I have sold a bit on ebay but I would rather the junk was out of my way than hanging around so out it went.

I also found out that the local government pay award has finally been settled at 2.475%. This is back-dated to april 2007 so there should be a big chunk of backpay this month. That will make a large dent in the mortgage this time. Yay!

Right, that's is from me for the time being.

TG- I hope you get the fraud thing sorted out. £911 is far too much to lose.
AD - well done on getting the job. Enjoy!

    Hi everyone,

Thought you might like to see the article that appeared in yesterday's Sunday Telegraph which mentions the MFiT challenge!!! It can be found under the Money and Jobs section for 4th November (headline - overpaying her mortgage by £3,000 per month on page 4). To view, you can sign up to a free 24 hour subscription. If anyone wants to view a pdf format of the article, just PM me your email and I will send it to you.

In addition, if anyone is listening to Neil Pringle on Southern Counties tomorrow about 7:30am, I will be talking briefly about the challenge there!

It's just as well I am starting the new job tomorrow - I just get myself into mischief when I am not working!!!:D
