Who is using Windows 8?

I updated to Windows 8 a couple weeks ago as I got fed up with Vista getting slower and as it was only £25 I took the plunge. Installed the classic shell to get back the start menu & the "Skip Metro" to skip the metro interface.
For £25, it's a good update for the price, boot & shut-down times are a lot quicker than they were under Vista.0 -
Windows 8 is better than Vista - read all about it!:)I updated to Windows 8 a couple weeks ago as I got fed up with Vista getting slower and as it was only £25 I took the plunge. Installed the classic shell to get back the start menu & the "Skip Metro" to skip the metro interface.

Nope and i wont be using it.
I will use windows 7 till I am basically forced to use windows 8.
Windows 8 is to designed for a tablet. I dont like it.
My list of windows in order:
Windows 95 = Boring
Windows 98 = Beginning of the start for windows imo.
Windows ME = Rubbish
Windows 2000 = Good
Windows XP = Good
Windows Vista = Rubbish
Windows 7 = Took me a while but is good
Windows 8 = Rubbish
My last pc had windows XP (and the first one Windows 98) and I now have Windows 7 on my laptop. I didn't upgrade my last pc to Vista because of the bad reviews read. I am now considering a first Smartphone but i am put off buying any which use Windows 8 because of the bad reviews seen on MSE. Is that justified or is Windows 8 ok on tablets/smartphones?0 -
I guess Windows smartphones are great if you don't want any apps.
Cos if the apps on Windows 8 are anything to go by there are none worth having, apart from Norad tracks Santa that is!That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

There is no justification in forcing a touchscreen os on desktop users.
I wondered when someone would make such a comment in this thread, surprised it took this long to claim that anyone that liked Windows 8 was paid my Microsoft. As for Windows 8's reputation, that certainly is not good but then its reputation and the operating system are very different.
Windows 8 does not force touchscreen on desktop users, I have upgraded two of my non-touch Win7 machines to Windows 8 machines and they work just fine ignoring the touch features.

I hated windows 8 on my first instal but once I stopped whinging about it and started using it/personalising it (pinning things to the start menu + creating restart & shutdown icons) I have never noticed or cared about the changes really.0
