Hi, my twins turned one just before Xmas and are a result of ivf treatment. Our first cycle was unsuccessful but we were so lucky second time around. I had a boy and a girl so very very lucky!
It's a tough process but worth it a million times over. Fertility Friends is a great forum for support too.
Good luck!0 -
I have had 9 failed cycles at IVF/ICSI/FET albeit with one ectopic and one chemical. But I also have other health issues which affects success rates for me.
Please come over to the Trials And Tribulations thread, loads of support over there also.2 angels in heaven :A0 -

My brother and sister-in-law have an IVF baby. They had 6 eggs harvested of which 3 were deemed viable. These were fertilised. One was implanted which resulted in a miscarriage. Then a second was implanted which resulted in my niece. The third fertilised egg is currently in the freezer for possible future use.0

It will probably be our only time going through it as the first one is free.
Has anyone had any success with this before??
I've been through it, sadly didn't work for us. First attempt was abandoned as none of the 5 eggs they collected fertilised so were not viable for the transfer stage. Second attempt i had 2 embryos transfered but neither of them resulted in a pregnancy. The remaining 4 embryos didn't make it to the freeze stage. But plenty of couples are successful with their first attempt.
As for the injections etc, it can be a bit daunting at the start but it's really not too bad and you quickly get your head around it all.
Good luck0 -
I have a 7 year old son and a 4 year old son both from ICSI. First attempt resulted in a miscarriage. Then tried with frozen embryos from the first cycle and failed. Second "fresh" cycle resulted in DS1 and then when the decision was made to try for another DS2 was the result. He was one of twins until week 10.

Thanks everyone for your comments.
I realise it's not easy going through this as there are no guarantees..0 -
I don't have personal experience of IVF but want to wish you the very best of luck. Our journey was different, in that our fertility issue was the lack of a man! We conceived using artificial insemination with a donor and now have a beautiful baby boy.
I found a tremendous amount of information and support on a site called fertility friends www.fertilityfriends.co.uk (not sure if I can post links but I've tried).
There are different boards to suit all circumstances. I hope it all works out for you.0 -
We are starting soonx0

Although here in Northern Ireland we get the first one free what is the usual cost of having the IVF?
In case the first one does not work?0
