It's Proserve isn't it?

    http://www.proserve.co.uk/

Look at the pepipoo thread already linked by The Slithy Tove.

Proserve are clearly a parking Company - their website makes that crystal clear - so without being in an ATA they CANNOT get DVLA data legally, this is surely an ICO breach of Data Protection by the DVLA.

    Complain to:

    david.dunford@dvla.gsi.gov.uk

Send him all the details and ask why a parking company is being allowed to get data via the 'back door method' of a written request, when parking companies specifically can ONLY get the data if they are a member of an ATA like the BPA's approved operator scheme. Remind him that even if there appears to be an agreement with the landowner, a non-AOS PARKING COMPANY cannot act like this so it's a DPA breach so what are they going to do about it before you report it to the ICO?

Yes it was them. £180 incl VAT, £156 If paid within 14 days. As they are registered bailiffs in this area I will not be surprised if they attempt knocking on my door. When they do I will have a similar sign to theirs erected right outside my house ie trespassing debt collectors will be issued a charge notice.

i asked all my Facebook buddies to spread the word about these charges. Also what may happen when the word spteads is a taxi driver boycott of Ransomes Industrial for drop offs and pick ups, see how their tenants will like that reaction.

Glad you know the difference between debt collectors and bailiffs.

But they are not acting as bailiffs here. Point that out to the DVLA in your complaint to David Dunford, do it now. This is a serious breach of data protection, your case is rare and you need to alert the DVLA to the mistakes they have made with this company.

Also insist that the dvla tells you how this company got your driver details from them, tell them that you want to know who paid the £2.50 for the release of the details.

Certainly of more use than your abject contribution.

  • Thanks for all contributors, just joined....we have also received a fine for £180 for trespass on Ransomes Europark in December when delivering to Parcel Force. Couldn't park in designated carpark as full, parked partly on pavement, partly on road (double yellow lines) simply to offload and delivery a number of very sensitive items that could not be left unattended.

Cannot be trespass as we have a contract with Parcel Force to deliver goods into the collection office. Have taken legal advice - we will see this all the way to County Court (if necessary).

Have informed them that the charge is extortinate and that we are allowed to park to offload on double yellow lines.

Incidentially whilst in the collection office the driver was warned that the parking attendent was doing his worst!. Our driver immediately returned to the vehicle to the move the truck and the attendant said "You will be getting a ticket, you are too late". Of course our driver said, if "I'm going to get a ......... ticket I won't move then" They have recorded this probably on a mobile phone. Apparently as it is on private land they can do this.

I will take your advice and complain to the DVLA. These people are bailiffs - not authorised parking companies. We have tried to appeal, we have also spoken to the managing agents of the land - to no avail. Now we wait for the county court papers that will be issued via Proserve on behalf of the land owner.

Therefore all help, advice will be greatly appreciated as we will not be engaging a solicitor.
