Morning all!
Am having a browse trying to maintain my sanity. OH is in ICU on a ventilator having had flu symptoms for a week, now has a lobe on each lung working and Drs not sure if it was the flu or something else, went into respiratory failure on Saturday. As you can imagine normal life has been suspended as we all cling to each other, told the kids last night today we cry, tomorrow we get back to helping him fight, which at least helped DS to blow bubbles from his nose for a second! So, all healing prayers vibes and spoons gratefully accepted, we will all put on our big girl panties and steel ourselves for the latest battle! xxxx
Am really sorry to hear this Jools, much love and big hugs to you, your OH and your kids xxxxx hope he makes a speedy recovery, healing vibes his way xxxx
Tiredmum well done on your promotion, hugs for you and your mum xxx healing vibes she makes a full recovery xxxx
After manic week last week is was hoping for a bit more calm. Clearly not  food shopping this morning, getting all my bits and pieces for Xmas as I do not want to go near a supermarket until after dec 25
a mountain of ironing to complete and DS carol concert this afternoon.
Had a house viewing yesterday which went well I think (I showed them round not an EA
) so would love it if something positive came out of that. Waiting to find out if H's car is going to be written off after the kamikaze deer. He's using our Freelander which is consequently drinking fuel with all the miles he's doing  we need that car back ASAP!!!!
No idea about tea, H says he's having a fasting day so will probably have pasta with the kids.
I have done my list of baking now I just need to actually do it
Hugs and spoons all round xxx
Bargainbird happy birthday chick  have a most excellent one xxxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Have been given some new blood pressure tablets by doc and they do make me feel a bit weird.......sort of dizzy and sick. I am hoping that as my bod gets used to them that will wear off. They might have made my blood pressure a bit too low perhaps? Dunno.
Unfortunately, many of the BP tablets can give side effects. The ones that work at controling my BP cause side effects. Several of them caused me diziness first thing of a morning. The ones i take now cause fluid retention but at least my BP is low.:D
If the diziness and sickness doesnt wear off in a week or two i'd go back and hound the doc again. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
My DH's BP tablets caused quite a few side effects when he first started taking them, then again each time they added a drug or changed the dose. He does still get fluid retention and skin discolouration around his ankles but the side effects have mainly calmed down.
As Judi says, give it a week or so and then return to the doctor if you still are troubled by the side effects.LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning All!
Been to the docs about this oral thrush again. Been going on for 6 months now. He's given me pills now to try and flush it out of my system:o
DD phoned in tears this morning. Apparently DGD took her purse and removed all her cards and money and has hidden it somewhere:eek: She was in a state, so was DGD. I'm afraid I laughed! It's there somewhere, it's just finding it:rotfl:
Ran out of bread yesterday. Bought some more this morning and decided to have some Heinz beans on top, left over from yesterday's breakfast. Did toast, added beans and cheese and sat down to eat it. Suddenly realised that there was a piece of glass in it! Just written to Heinz enclosing said piece of glass. Be interesting to see what they say!
Happy Birthday Bargain Bird :bdaycake:I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning All
Bargainbird I hope that you are spoiled rotten today.
In my calender a reindeer
We went over to the garden centre this morning to get some terracotta pots. I nearly had heart failure when I saw how much they were and they didn't have many so we got four, they have also started their Christmas sale, so I got a few bits for next year.
Then we popped to our freezer trade shop and got a few bits, couldn't get much because the freezer is close to bursting.
I want to defrost it after Christmas and fill it full of meat, hopefully the beef, lamb and pork will still be on offer in Asda up until the new year.

Hi all,
Been mia due to a very busy few days. We had DGD aged 3 and DGD 14mths for the w/end. DD & Sil2b went to a hotel for r&r. The girls were so good but they kept us on our toes.
Had a lovely eve at our DF's for dinner, didn't get home until 12.15am. Then they wanted to pop into to ours on Fri night. They left after 4.5hrs, so another late night.
All wrapping done, cards posted and decs finished.
BM has pinged, bed stripped & remade wm nearly finished.
List made of things to do before the big day, I'm a diehard list maker.
JOOLS, Positive thoughts and prayers to you and yours.
TIREDMUM Sorry to hear about your DM, I do hope the treatment works.
BARGAINBIRD, Happy Birthday to you. _party_
Hope all poorlies will be on the mend soon.0 -
Hi all:hello:
Jessie's been picked up, and I've given Mr Dys0n a good bit of exercise, getting up all the black dog hairs!:D My shoulders are killing me now, so having a time-out to rest them, and read the Daily. I'll do my replies on a word-doc today, I think.;)
Hoppy Bargain Bird-day.:bdaycake: Sorry, couldn't resist doing it like that.:rotfl:
Judi re telling your friend why you left – can you say something like staying a member of the church was no longer the right path for you? :oGood luck – hopefully she'll be understanding.
Jools honey, a (((HUG))) and coping vibes for you and the kids, and all the healing vibes I can muster for OH.:grouphug:
Tired Mum GWS vibes for your mum – hopefully all will go well with her therapy.:o
Goldiegirl I know what you mean about everything being typed on a computer these days;:D we've just done the 20-page ATOS form; Mr LW did it for me, as my hand cramps up after a couple of minutes holding a pen. I know I could download the form online, but they sent me a paper one, and I begrudge the paper and ink I'd have to use if I download it! I think it's sweet of you to take the trouble to do the letter of condolence by hand.:o
JackieO ooh, a stairlift!:T Our favourite restaurant is upstairs, and they have a stairlift for disabled diners; that's my only experience of them, as I was lucky enough to move into a bungalow when I came to live with Mr LW. Let us know how it goes.:o
Tina Malteser best of luck at the Fang Farrier's this afternoon.:o
Hilstep thank the gods you saw the glass before you put it in your mouth!:eek::eek: Hope DD has found her purse/cards by now.:o
Well, I suppose I should think about a spot of lunch, but I don't feel like eating.:( Maybe I'll leave it a while and see if I'm hungry a bit later – Mr LW gets on my case something rotten if I skip lunch, specially as I didn't bother with breakfast this morning.:cool:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
