No. Just factual. I wouldn't put my money towards cruelty of an animal or supporting child labour. And not in the slightest bit "funny".

    You did. Not me.

If you actually read my first post correctly it says I am trying to stop the order for the ugg boots before they arrive as I believe they are fake. If my husband had realised the website was a scam he wouldn't of used it! And we are now trying to rectify that. We did not have the intention of buying fake goods, so please stop with the guilt tripping for a legitimate mistake! If you haven't got anything nice or useful to say then don't say anything at all!

    "Funny"?

Take a look. They are your boots.

My comment was entirely reasonable. Your husband needs to understand the real world and do some research before venturing online.

Saddest thing is not once have you said that you don't support counterfeiting. More interested in getting your dog-skin boots or a refund.

The cruelty to animals involved in the sale of "cheap boots" is almost beyond belief. But it happens and the gutless thugs who practice it -- as well as child labour and widespread other abuses -- prosper only because of the gullibility of buyers who:

    * never check a website to see its registrant details

    * never Google to check if the website or supplier has been unfavourably mentioned elsewhere

    * never check the website for details of the business's address, postcode and telephone number.

Naivety is costly for a buyer such as yourself. But it's this kind of naivety which is resulting in far, far worse to the animals, the children, and the adults victimised by the criminal gangs that are running these scams (note: Ugg boots is particularly well known for the sheer number of fakes out there -- demonstrating, yet again, that a designer name label is a ludicrous item to purchase if the full price cannot be afforded from a legitimate distributor / authorised outlet.)

International fakery has never been a more brutal and brutalizing business than it is now -- thanks entirely to a Western need for 'bargains' from any place, and at any cost, just so long as they're cheap.

I actually think this post should be "pinned" to the MSE website for all to see.

And for those people that don't heed the above - really simple and blindingly obvious advice - you only have yourselves to blame.

For god sake do you think the op's partner deliberately done the above.

Nope. But see above post. Some things are blindingly obvious.

If I supported counterfeiting then surely I would be keeping the items instead of trying to return them?? Kind of defeats the object doesn't it?
Sadly you have already judged my character, so I'm not going to defend myself as I fear it will fall on deaf ears.
Unfortunately I came on here for advice which you obviously cannot give.

Here's the thing. I couldn't give a stuff about your boots or your refund. The advice you want is how to get your money back. If your husband had purchased proper products then we could be talking DSR, SOGA or anything else. No. He bought knock-off stuff.

I give plenty of advice and started off being softly softly talking about being wise in 'hindsight'. But your lack of grace or acceptance of the facts is, to me, pretty poor.

I stand by my suggestion that your husband does more research before delving into the world of the internet.
