Most people earn £45/hour ? I certainly don't earn anywhere near that.

I wish I was paid £45 an hour instead of my £6.59p!!

£6.59 an hour is slave labour.

got two accounts one I have set up to pay two credit cards a month the other I will set-up to pay paypal and something else low value will pay a low amount into paypal which can be used eventually to pay something else.

Makes no difference to me where these are paid from and both are currently paid by debit card not DD.
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

Exactly. However, many working people have to live on this sort of pay.

This is why I get very annoyed with retired people whose pensions are at least the "average" annual income (nearly twice the "slave labour" rate) and feel that is still "easy" to save.

Got two letters in today for my two Bank of Scotland Rewards accounts.

Might just move two DD's to the accounts to save any hassle and pocket £120 a year. They still won't be used as main accounts as they hope and the money for the bills will arrive the day before.

Added to the £60 from the Halifax Rewards account and that's a nice £180 from HBOS to me each year :)

Unfortuantly in this country with not exactly millions of jobs about many people have to take this sort of pay which at the end of the day if it pays the bills and put food on the table its all that matters.

But sometimes I suppose in this climate you have to take what you get.
  • OK so I have a DD for a Tesco account for the Halifax Reward. I set the process going for PayPal but I realise now that's no use! Duh! Dunno what else I can do for a completely separate DD. I have a Santander eSaver but there doesn't seem to be the facility for DDs.

Except in most of the world, where £6.59 a week might be good.
