Hi everyone, not posted for a few days. I bought a tin of coconut milk today for only 59p at Home B's! Very impressed.
Only have a pound of this weeks budget left but I get paid tomorrow so that's good.

  • Eeek.. can't believe it's nearly feb, bought a few items yesterday & the yellow lables didn't go through, so paid full price without knowing:eek:... was too far to justify going back to the shop!

I'm a little over budget at £304.23... best not buy anymore! :o

    Hello all!

I get paid on Friday but won't be spending money tomorrow since I have what I need for lunch and dinner.

So that means I'm declaring £80.64/£130

EXTREMELY pleased with this - it's the lowest I've ever come in with and that included a big Mr T delivery as well. Nice to start January on a good note.

Well done to everyone coming in on, under, or above budget, because it's the taking part that counts! :D

  • This is my last post of this challenge. My February budget starts on Friday and I had my last spend today from January budget. Little bit gutted, spent £8.52 which put me 14p over budget!

Would have made it but invited OH family for tea and had to buy in extras. Nevermind, what is 14p in the grand scheme of things.

See you all over on the February thread. Well done to everyone who has been part of this thread.

  • Another £2.67 to add but only cos I'm ill, was medicine!

    DEFINATELY it till Feb now!

Declaring at £159.22/£160 so squeaking in under budget!
  • Whee! I finally got another NSD in before the end of January :D I'm a very happy Kitchenbunny today, as I won't be going shopping tomorrow and then it's February! So, barring any emergencies I'm going to declare my January total as:

£165.42 out of £1800.00 for the year :D

This leaves me £1634.58 for the rest of the year. Hopefully some months will even themselves out as January has been such a long month! So, unless I spend tomorrow (highly unlikely) then I shall see you on the February thread. Well done to everyone that has taken part. :) Couldn't do it without you!

Well, another 2 small spends tonight take me even more over budget, but I am still pleased as I think I have reduced spending compared to normal, and know more how I can keep it under cintrol next month. Thanks for everyone's inspiration during the dark January days!!!

Tonight' buys were a birthday cake for a friend £5.50, and 2 bags of yoghurt coated raisins for £1.60 in Holland and Barrett (£1.59 + 1p) for school lunchboxes.

Am going to call it a day for January and declare on:

    £215.69 / £200

    7.8% over budget

Spent £6 on bits and pieces today. Really good offer on washing up liquid, think 2 x 900ml bottles for £3. Also yoghurts x 8 for £1.50 and i can't actually remember what else we got.

    Will update signature shortly.

Hubby went shopping for something he NEEDED yesterday and spent £12 out of January's money. Though he then admitted he actually forgot to get whatever it was. He came back with some reduced bread and cake and we're still within budget so I didn't shout, more an exasperated sigh.

A NSD from GC. Went to hair dresser though. Am much blinded. And poorer, but it's already budgeted for and I won't scrimp on it. Updating sig now.
