I have just started to post on MSE again after a gap time - lost Mil and time flew.
I have just until Sunday of January left so will start on February GC on Monday.
I am aiming to spend less than £100 - 4 weeks - pension so 4 weeks works for me.
    My condolences.

    Welcome back :)

Today is going to be a Low Spend Day at the very least. I forgot to buy a garlic bread yesterday so will have to brave the ice to pick one up a bit later - it's lasagne tonight, and Mr KB does like garlic bread with lasagne. Can't blame him. :)

There'll be a bit of a clear out in the fridge today. I'll stock take, turn things that are getting a bit squishy into bits for the freezer, and perhaps have a go at making a bit of soup. Saturday is normally my cleaning day so I'll work some bits of cooking into it. I'm making a batch of the cookies from the index at the front of this thread for the biscuit tin and have some chicken thighs to pick for meat. Lots to get done today, so I'll not be tempted to venture to the supermarket!

    Have a good day everyone.

  • i've collected all my receipts together in a file and added them up this morning. My grand total so far comes to 376.99 and I haven't been shopping for this week's shopping list yet:eek: My month runs from the 28th as that is when I am paid so my total will go up again but not by much as I have a short shopping list.

On closer inspection it's high because we went to see the Lion King in Manchester at new year and went to Pizza Express afterwards (5 adults, two courses) so that came to £95 and we had a takeaway on Thursday as everyone was running late so no-one made the tea. So I am not too unhappy as without those two events I would have been well under budget. I am going to stay with the same target for next month of £350.

Well because of all the snow we had here, couldn't actually get to the shops last week. Had enough in the house to last us. Off to stock up now, think we might somehow come in under our budget for the month!

  • Well snow stopping me going out so ordered my last shopping of the month on line £46.30 spent but had £9 in Mr T vouchers so final total £37.30 this brings me in slightly under budget at £146.77 for the month :j:j been a really long month so pleased with this result. I would have managed with less but have people coming tomorrow for lunch so had to buy a few extras.

Has the February thread started yet does anyone know?

Thanks for the help and support everyone this has really kept me on track this month.

Florenceem sorry to hear of your loss. Take care. x

Catching up but I have added spends. I've slightly gone over and still have till the 31st :(
I think realistically, for us, £160 was quite low for a family of 4 adults and 1 dog for 31 days.
So with that in mind I'm going to rethink my grocery budget.
Well done to everyone who are managing to keep on the straight and narrow :)
