Does anyone have any good ham and pea soup recipes? Also does it taste a lot of peas? Sounds silly but i've never had it. I have been given 2 massive packs of gammon £12 worth from a friend who runs a local produce farm shop, she always give us the leftovers that she's frozen, so they need using up, HELP.

Also just updated all my totals.

    Food - £31.40.

    Eating out - £13.63.

    Fun - £6.40.

All spends since Monday, including a NSD today due to having left my purse in the car at the garage all day.

7 family sized portions of shepherds pie made today, now goign to do a mountain of mash to freeze, i never managed to do it the other day.

    Evening all :)

Just catching up with the thread and updating my spends from yesterday and today.
Spent £5.49 on bread, dessert, potatos and some essentials for my hospital bag in Mr Ms.
Spent £4.94 in Mr T express on milk, magazines, bread rolls and chocolate for me.

Hopefully shouldnt need anything else now til the next big shop on Tuesday. I've been struggling with the meal planning this week due to DP suddenly changing shifts at work, meaning he's not home til very late and i'm finding we're eating seperately. I've put all the things on my meal plan in the freezer though otherwise they would go out of date.

Hope everyones had a good day! Not long til the end of the month now!

    Suze :)

I wrote a list from My supermarket based on Sainsbury's, then went to Aldi (right on my way home). I got a few things cheaper, but there wasn't a lot in it. There were quite a few things I couldn't get in there anyway. Then went on to Sainsbury's and bought remaining stuff there. Frustrating though; some of the offers were cleared off the shelf and some just weren't there. I have started a price book and I think that is the way to go: then if I know the price in front of me matches or is very close to the cheapest I have seen I can safely go for it.

It was a bit complicated, but I think I can get into the swing of it. Definitely NOT doing it with the kids in tow, way home from work only!

    Grand total spend of:
    Aldi £15.76
Sainsbury's £41.69 BUT used £40 of Nectar points so actually £1.69
    Total £17.45

  • Hi there, Oh my word, what a lot of catching up I have to do this weekend, but I'm determined to do so - you're all so inspirational. Managed to slowly put the brakes on after my disastrous start to January - getting back into good habit, but they still need refining. After a top up shop tomorrow I should come in on budget. Payday Friday so will start all over again. Thank you everyone x
