    Hi all :)

Just updating my spends for yesterday. Spent £1.20 on four cakes from Greggs as a treat for me and DP, although it turned out he didnt like the icing so i might aswell have made them myself.

Was hoping for a NSD today, but just noticed that we are low on bread for lunch tomorrow so will have to pop into Mr As later.

Hope everyone has a good day! Dreading updating my signature now i'm well over-budget :(.

Found myself randomly in Aldi's carpark today (a long story!), so got a frozen pizza for the weekend, and a small punnet of cherry tomatoes. A £3.09 spend, which I've added to my siggy.

  • i am a supporter of dried milk and the cheapest i could get was SAINsB**S @£1.01 a fews week ago i just kept going and picked up four bags at a time

I use this all the time, make up a couple of pints at a time and put in a jug in the fridge, we find it fine for hot drinks and cooking. Only my DH has cereal and he uses lacto free milk, so not a problem. I would use it on cereal I think it tastes OK.

I only discovered this the other week thanks to someone on here. Managed to find 3 receipts I still had including a large on line shop and was disappointed to only get 88p back. BUT I tried again with 2 smaller receipts this week and got nearly £2 back so its worth persevering and only takes 2 ticks to do on their site.

Hi, well my very first month doing the grocery challenge has gone exceedingly well!!! My budget was £250 and so far I've just under £90 left in my 'food' purse :) I will have to buy a few nice bits tomorrow as DS1 is coming home from uni for the weekend and is bringing a friend. Don't think they would appreciate freezer surprise haha.

Think the whole experience has been made easier because the help and motivation on this thread is so infectious. I joined the eating out of the freezer/cupboards thread too and it really made me focus on what I had available, what I needed to buy and the general tips and chat has proved invaluable. Next month is going to be REALLY tight so will have to cut the budget a bit so fingers crossed the enthusiasm continues!

A1di this morning and the car park was horrendous nearly went **** over head lolx

Spent £24.64 so have £43 left till end of the month. Will need some fruit and veg on Saturday and then another shop next Thursday - going to go right to the wire this month before I know if we have made it or not

Have got the slow cooker on and done the Hairy Bikers Rich beef and Ale casserole but will be having it tomorrow with either dumplings or mash not sure which yet.
Tonight is home battered fish and chips.

Well done to everyone taking part regardless of your results, at least we have all tried.
    MARCH £62.38/250
  • Well the Ald's voucher must be in next weeks Mirror :( . I shall go early to the paper shop next Thursday and let you all know if i'm successful. Te$co spend today of £12.44 and Ald's of £25.79. Very, very close to my budget, really would like to stay under £400 this month, I will feel as if i've truly achieved something if I manage it as it's been such a LOOOONG month.

Thanks for the instructions for freezing onions, I will be doing some later as OH not eating them at the moment.

spent £10.86 last night on milk, rtc bagels, soya milk, and toms.

did mushroom omelette for lunch and will have to feed boys early and we'll grab some toast as its parents evening tonight.

was planning on going ald! this week instead of morrys after the lure of a moc, sadly no voucher but have almost talked myself out of morrys in view of well need to give someone a lift home so will drive past adl! but free cinema tixs mean weve lost the time slot we normally go to morrys.

will give ald! a go and see if i can get most of what i need

need to do meal plan and list tomorrow for next week
