I'm really impressed with everyone on here and am going to pop by on a regular basis to seek some inspiration with recipe ideas... We spend far too much at Aldi and Mr T and I would like to try hard this year to reduce the monthly sounds.......

So, I've subscribed and will be checking in for inspiration on a regular basis!

    Thank you

So adding a couple of trips to shops and big shop delivery, we are now over budget. We are at £264.58 budget is £250. Now this is actually very good as we would normally spend £400-£500. My GC is running until end of Jan though. We have mealplanned right up to end of month but may need a few more items as there were a couple of things missing from food delivery. Both children, DH and myself are all poorly, so our plans for the weekend may have to be cancelled and the mealplan altered to allow for meals that take less time to prep and cook!

This month has been good for us. We have spent a lot less than normal, we are well underway with the clearing out of food cupboards and large freezer. My plan is to deduct the overspend in Jan from the budget in Feb and hope to make up for it that way. We should be fine to do this if we carry on planning carefully. My aim is to finish emptying the large freezer and get that sold in Feb. It needs to go before we start our building work in the house.
  • Another NSD here for me - feels good saying that again!

Been busy all day cleaning the caravan before it leaves us tomorrow ready for our new one next week and for a regularly cleaned van it was absolutely filthy!!!! Done inside all the cupboards and under all the beds - I did however come up with a while bag of tins and packets from the cupboards which is a bonus!

Jacket potatoes for tea but refuse to pay the high prices for large potatoes so we all had 2 medium ones each - feels like more!

Anyway, hoping to have one last NSD tomorrow as have plenty of bread and milk and still some fruit for the kids to take to school, but I may have to go out and get a couple of bits depending on what DH decides on for tea.

Still snowing here - been on and off all day but happily it's not settling so fingers crossed the roads will be clear tomorrow.

  • Oooh, what are the vouchers for? I'll have a search but wondered if someone could share with those of us not in the know? :)

The vouchers are £5 off a £30 pound spend and if you do weekly shops in Ald's you can buy two papers which last you two weeks :) well worth it, I think they tell you on the facebook page but they're not saying anything at the moment, usually someone know on here.

well blown this month's budget but £150 for 5 of us (including nappies and cleaning stuff!) was just a little optimistic!! I was aware of this when I started but wanted to use up a lot of things that I already had. So my cupboards are emptier than they were but I think I still have enough stuff to make it through to the end of the month with maybe £10 to spend on fruit and milk. Its a lot harder to stay within the budget than it was this time last year!
So I have spent £180.68 so far which is £30.68 over. I normally have a budget of £250 a month so I have still saved IYSWIM. Just thought as I had spent extra in December so wanted to gain some back and I have, so still pleased :)
    mortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊
