How about fruit scones? Or fruit muffins? Fruit jellies?

Than you mrsCD. I have to remind myself of how far I have come sometimes, like today (Blue Monday apparently).
Thank you for the ideas too.

  • NSD here, but will be out to the shops pretty much straight away tomorrow for milk and a few other bits. Hoping for the snow boots I ordered today (£20.54 incl next day delivery!) to arrive before I head out :)

    Forgot to add:
next month I think I will set a target for the number of NSDs I want to achieve and see if that motivates me even more :)

I paid off £8,000 worth of debt last year and I am NOT going back there.

I echo that! What an amazing achievement! :D:T

Small spend of £4 today in Mr S on lunch items. Having leftover turkey mince sweet potato cottage pie for lunch tomorrow and the other ready made from Mr S on Wednesday for lunch.

I caught the train to work this morning. £7 but I'm not including that in my grocery money.

I took DH to T@sco this evening after a simply delicious dinner of chicken, lentil and fennel braise. Mmm. I'm not sure taking him was a good idea.

He turned his nose up at every value packet i put in the trolley. I picked up some prepared veg bags for 10p, some green beans for 11p and some whipping cream for 25p, all destined for the freezer for now.

I had prepared a shopping list from mysupermarket and had it with me which helped me select the packs i really wanted. Some of them are so similar. It's very confusing. anyway... I shopped for 7 planned evening meals, lunches and breakfasts for £31.70. Including some lightbulbs DH decided he needed right at the last moment. £4 on lightbulbs!!!!

I have a question. I got a "save £7 when you spend £50 or more" Do people use them? I have enough money in this month's budget if I want to stock up next week. It's 14% off. I could be spending for spendings sake. Or should I meal plan or pantry fill with it? If i got products i use all the time and have good shelf lives on. Any suggestions? Ideas? Thank you.

    Lol

    Lol

I use the vouchers and get the most out of them by stocking up on things we eat regularly and making the most of the vouchers by getting bogofs on things like cheese and quorn, which are some of the most expensive food products for us.

Basically its £7 of free food and you can really make it work for you, but only if you can afford to do a big supermarket shop and have the space to store what you huy.

Just a quick update - I spent another 16.63 today on fresh stuff to carry us through to friday's payday, so I'm feeling very pleased as I should stay in budget.

    Have a good day
    Trying to keep in budget.

  • Haven't been posting on spends but been reading all yours :)

Currently spent £221 of my £320 budget (Original budget was £360!) and month ends in just 9 days. Very pleased.
Going to have one last push and buy essentials only this week, maximum £50 spend which will be £90 under my original budget!!!!
Looking to buy half a pig from local farm next month so will buy that out of Feb's budget and bank these savings.

Also been putting spare change, money budgeted from school dinners but not spent because of snow days etc in a pot, got £45 saved up.

This thread has kept me motivated, thanks to all
