Good morning everyone
Haven't posted in a while but have been keeping track of my spending. I tend to do one big shop a week and then have no need to 'top up' (I am also doing the NSD Challenge so one big shop helps me achieve that too). Last week my main shop from Mr Ts came to £98.09 which takes my total to £341.89, that just leaves me £58.11 until the end of the month . I know that sounds like a lot but that is for 2 adults, 2 teenagers and OH 2 children at weekends. I do have some bits in the cupboard/freezer so will see what I can plan around it.
Really enjoy reading all the posts on this thread, will pop off and update my sig now.Sealed Pot Challenge 6 - Member 1938

I caught the train to work this morning. £7 but I'm not including that in my grocery money.
I took DH to T@sco this evening after a simply delicious dinner of chicken, lentil and fennel braise. Mmm. I'm not sure taking him was a good idea.
He turned his nose up at every value packet i put in the trolley. I picked up some prepared veg bags for 10p, some green beans for 11p and some whipping cream for 25p, all destined for the freezer for now.
I had prepared a shopping list from mysupermarket and had it with me which helped me select the packs i really wanted. Some of them are so similar. It's very confusing. anyway... I shopped for 7 planned evening meals, lunches and breakfasts for £31.70. Including some lightbulbs DH decided he needed right at the last moment. £4 on lightbulbs!!!!
I have a question. I got a "save £7 when you spend £50 or more" Do people use them? I have enough money in this month's budget if I want to stock up next week. It's 14% off. I could be spending for spendings sake. Or should I meal plan or pantry fill with it? If i got products i use all the time and have good shelf lives on. Any suggestions? Ideas? Thank you.
Lol
Do you have any other coupons you could use? As long as you use the £7 off one first you can then use any number of other coupons so your actual cash outlet isn't as high.
Hope this makes sense.0 -

I love it when I can get the prepared packs of veg
for a few pence. I dehydrate them and now have a lovely stock of dried veg for stews and soups..Slimming World at target0 -

Went to town to get bits, Iceland £5.50 but had vouchers for some of the items I bought so only spent £3 of 'real money'! Then in Co-op spent £2.93 but had vouchers for that so nothing!
Yay! I now have enough to buy a surprise take-away for date night on Saturday(£10)
Will add today's spends to sig, will have a kfc to add tonight and then a Chinese on Saturday (so another £24 in total). Think I will still be under budget! Pay day is the end of this week for both of us so i will pop over to the new February GC thread, knock a bit off my total (dropping by £30!) then do an inventory************************************

A NSD for me today:D and still 9 more days to go, but hoping I can make it.
Ive still got the butchers bill to include but won`t get that until the beginning of next month for this months meat. I`ve estimated what i`ve spent and taken this out of the purse, so I know i`ve got that covered.
It`s fish for tonight from the freezer, with some mash and veg and tomorrow i`ll use up some more of the veg for a curry, so fingers crossed I shouldn`t need anything tomorrow either.
I`ve got some bread to make in a little while for pack ups tomorrow.
Hoping you`re all keeping warm.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41
