On a bit of a go slow today as we were caught in an 8 mile queue on the motorway last night. Took 3.5 hours for the police to turn us around and to drive back down the wrong way of the M20:eek: Have to say the children were amazing, as it was pitch black and one by one the ipods and phones ran out of battery:( Had to be right at the front of the queue didn't we :rotfl:
Will be popping on to update the budget list, but I'm still on my December GC for now. Looking forward to joining you all officially in January.
Bye for now

Hi Coxy11. Could you put me down for £135 a month for January, February, March, April and May, please? I'll review it after May, because if I can stick with it, I'll have caught up with my Christmas overspend from December.
Many thanks for all your work, and everyone who contributes to the GC. It's teaching me a lot about my bad spending habits and budgetting generally, so it's a huge help.Better is good enough.0 -
Hi, I'm a newbie to the grocery challenge. I'm widowed with two teenagers, one at uni and the other final year of school and I currently spend a horrendous amount of money on food - or that should read rubbish!! I used to be very good with shopping budgets and meal planning but the last two years my head has been full of cotton wool. So time to blow away the cobwebs and get my act in gear. Please put me down for £250 per month - and I'll start today, pay day!0

This is great. We are spending about £400 a month with the two of us! This includes cat food, rabbit food etc. We are so naughty, we do an online shop but I bet you we will be back at asda a few days later! I'm hoping this will change when I start full time work in a few weeks. Now I am employed, lets get rid of this student debt!0

Hello again and Happy New Year. Good to see so many newbies  Hope it works out for you all.
Thanks to zippychick, rosieben, bluegreen, coxy (and pink if you're still around?) for all your hard work in setting up the thread and keeping us all on track. :T
Please can I change from weekly to monthly? I'd like to go for £300 per month, and I'm going to do calendar months this year to see if I can work it out any better
Nice to see elsiepac back again too - hope your Mum is ok and the treatment works well. I know you can sort your finances out, and we're all here for you to have a rant whenever you want!
Risingfromtheashes - I'm glad I'm not the only one who has senior moments when working out my budgets:rotfl:Good to see you.
