Okay so December was not good, budget wise!
In January I am aiming for £60 per week so £240 as there are 2 of us and 2 cats that should be more than enough right?Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0 -
Hi - I'd like to join this month please, could you put me down for £100, not to include anything baby related (barring food). I put £80 onto my Clubcard Plus and the other £20 is for things not in Te*co (eg milk is cheaper in Iceland, some good reductions in the Co-op).

£450.00 for me for January please. This month has been better with not so many trips to the shops and when I have bought bits in m&$ that I wasn't planning on getting then I've paid for them with my own money rather than from the food budget. Hoping I can make use of the slow cooker I got for xmas but need to make room in freezer first.
Happy Boxing day all :j0 -

Oh golly gosh, I am feeling so guilty and horrified at our self indulgence. We have a generous allowance on our trust deed and we're expected to use it but looking at the spend figures of the challengers on here, it's way way higher than others manage on. I calculated our average monthly food-only spend for last year as £493 for 3 adults and one teenager. That's not toiletries, cleaning or pets. Or school lunches for daughter.
I'm determined to get our grocery bill down. Ironically we never eat out, we have maybe 2 takeaways a month and I cook from scratch most of the time but I throw away a lot of food, esp veg and fruit. And dairy. And sometimes meat if I don't look after it (ie freeze it quickly/use it quickly after defrosting etc.) [STRIKE]We[/STRIKE] I drink a lot - maybe 6 bottles of wine a month so that's £30/£40 there......
Small steps so here I go......
Put me down for £500 for January then £400 a month after that. My month runs 23rd to 22nd and Jan has included Xmas food.
I'm looking forward to this!0 -
