That would be a shame. Have you written to them to ask? Worth a stamp?

  • hey everyone!

Just wondering if there had been any more 2nd letters received or money appearing into bank accounts like one of the posters a wee while back?

I know it's Christmas week and post might be a bit slow but just interested to know

    thanks x
On my way to well earned riches (I hope!) :T:T:T
  • I recieved a first letter but not had anything since although it did say it would be within 8 weeks.
Not sure if we are due anything . Took a mortgage out in March 2006 and because circumstances changed we have been paying pretty much just interest only every month since. Its not particulary deserved if we get anything but it would certainly be an unexpected bonus.

Got a first letter. Awaiting second.
  • Unsure if this affects me or not - I took a Together mortgage in 2004 with 16k as a loan. I then remortgaged in August 2008 and increased the loan to £35k. The mortgage account number remained unchanged. Does this mean I could be covered as the initial loan was less than 25k? I haven't received a letter but as I've moved abroad that's not surprising!

I think I might just do that. I'll draft a letter, nothing to lose.

Anyone no longer with Northern Rock had a letter yet?

We got away from NRAM October 2010, we had mortgage and secured loan with them. Moved both the mortgage and loan elsewhere, we havent received a letter yet. We'd had our mortgage for a few years with them, but had the loan from June 2007 until October 2010.

The NRAM websites states we may be in the group to receive a letter. So just waiting to see what the New Year brings ;)
  • Just to link myself to this thread as I keep losing it!

Anyway I got the first letter and waiting for the second.

Im potentially looking at around £5k redress which will be nice..

The tax man can use my last 3 pay packet contributions to pay it off so none of you fine people will lose out!
  • I have had a northern rock since 2004 and it was a together mortgage. My account has been taken over by Virgin. Im just wondering if i am able to claim a refund too. Also who should i contact as virgin tell me to speak to NRAM and NRAM tell me to speak to Virgin. As far as im aware my account has always been a northern rock one and not NRAM. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Adam
  • Rang up and paid my mortgage as usual today and asked if they had recieved many calls on the subject. They said loads but nothing will be resolved in the next couple of weeks. He seemed to think if you are due anything they will write to you in the next 5 weeks which fits in with the original letter saying 8 weeks. A previous poster on here said they had recieved some money already I'm just wondering if this is definately from the same error as it seems as no one else has recieved anything let alone a second letter. Of course they may have already re inbursed those who they feel were owed it and the rest of us will just recieve a further letter stating no further action to be taken!
