hi. i signed on on 20th, they showed me at the job centre that the payment had been sent to be processed already. they said it will hit my account on 21st it didn't. the phone lines told me it could hit today (24th) it didnt.I'm with nat west and obviously there is no one to call at the jobcentres and all phone lines are closed ( even though i was told they wouldnt be) I'm a loan parent that's been left without any money for christmas. i got my child tax credits and that pretty much gone on my gas and electric meters.0

If it ain't in at 230 I dnt even have money to call the job centre but the stinking crisis Loan number is free. Whoopee hip hip hooray. "Crisis loans for everybody ".

Hello, this question is a bit different to the ones already mentioned.
I signed on 18th December 2012 and was expected to get paid on the 21st December, but when I checked my Bank, i was not paid that day. Does this mean I have to wait 3 working days till i get my pay? I will be ringing the Job Centre soon about this to find out the exact cause for this. I felt this was bloody wrong to stop me receiving my money before christmas and that it should have been paid earlier if that was the case.0 -
That's all very well for you. Some of us can only afford to have our benefits last until the next day we're due to get more - clearly you're not struggling as much as some people here.
And prove to me that the 31st is not a bank holiday. Do you have a valid link for that?
Hi, here's a link on the Government Website for Bank Holidays for the next few years, and at the bottom, they list 2012 holidays that we've already had.
https://www.gov.uk/bank-holidays
There is no mention of the 31st being a Bank Holiday. Hope this helps.

Just to confirm what SandraScarlett has posted above.
December 31 is not a public holiday. However, schools are closed for the Christmas holidays and many people have a day off work or leave earlier than usual. Stores and post offices are generally open, but may close earlier than usual. Public transport systems may run to their usual schedule, but they may have a reduced service or close down totally in the late afternoon or evening.
