I asked a question on here because in the past I have found the information very useful. Recently though there have been a handful of people who seem to take great pleasure in digging up previous issues, which have no relevance IMO.
I now have someone saying they would like to trace me through my posts, you came on here with the obvious intention of stirring things and now there are links to previous threads, which are all perfectly normal threads IMO.
I am glad that you are doing such a great job in your business. Well done. Lets hope that nothing ever gets in your way of being such a brilliant business owner and employer.
Think its time for me to start looking for a more friendly site to post any queries that I may have.
What can be more friendly that trying to keep you out of court?
Which is basically all people are trying to do.
Would you prefer hard and fast facts or little fluffy clouds and huggsx? If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

The ones offering me the advice are not the ones I am talking about and you know it.
How about:'This is not the first time the OP has needed procedures. Some of us have long memories and can remember the apprentice the op had to fire'
This makes it look as though I have done this before, which could not be further from the truth. As I said, you seem to have judged me and made up your mind about me from one thread however many years ago.
As well as the obvious ones on the previous page where old threads have been dug up which have no relevance to this thread whatsoever.0 -

Far from it,
Many are not that good at it.0 -

You have needed procedures before - when you were asking about how to get rid of your apprentice. You seemed very certain that you wanted shot of him at the time.
And at that time, I told you that you needed procedures to follow.
If you can't remember that - then it's a good job I jogged your memory.
You have needed procedures in the past, you need them now and you will need them in the future.
You may not like it, but that's the bottom line.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

We are doing fine thanks.
One of our businesses is 10 years old, the other 3.
Also, having run my own business I would always be helpful and supportive of other business owners, knowing the difficulties they face, I would certainly never bully someone or be rude to them/about them because they asked for advice or help.
I suppose some people need to do that to make themselves feel better. Fair enough.0 -

*bangs head against the wall*
I most certainly didnt 'want rid' of him, I was upset about how he was treating us at the time and asked for advice. As I did this time.
Completely different business, completely different situation.
And its in your head that I dont like it, not mine !0 -

*Bangs head on wall.
It doesn't matter whether it's a different business - the procedures are there to protect YOU. YOU the business owner, manager - whatever.
Even the lawyers on here came to the conclusion that you would have to follow the procedures in order to dismiss fairly. Which was my first post on here. And I only mentioned the situation with past history when you said you had never had to do this before - even though you had posted about having an issue with your apprentice - when you were advised to get some procedures in place. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. *still banging head on the wall*
I have never had an employee go to prison before.
Completely different situation.
Again, in the case of our apprentice, it was about his attitude, not 'how I could get rid of him' as you keep saying.
I dont have proceedures in place for the scenario of an employee going to prison, I know now that I will need to take legal advice and I will do so, but please can you stop trying to make me out as some sort of serial employee culler.0 -

Ok.
It's the same procedure.

OK.
Its not the same procedure to deal with the attitude of an employee than to dismiss them because they are in prison.
Good luck with your business if you think they are the same.0
