Welcome Debtsgottogo and FrugalFoxy!
Best of luck with your missions!
How is everyone going?
Chipping away here. Going to need motivation to reach my debtfreegoal by 2015, as we have an expensive time ahead. We finally got our mortgage approval!!! So there will be an entire house to furnish! The only thing we own is a tumble dryer, iron and ironing board!!!Debts: Credit Card: €6000 ---> €5050 Feb 25 \ Overdraft: Step 3/100
Savings: FF Fund: Step 23/100 \ CU: 3755/40000 -
Hi everyone! I'm new, and have just seen this thread. My original DFD was 2016, but I'm aiming for April 2015 for more of a challenge, and so I have no debt by the time I finish my PhD (and therefore have no fixed income- though hopefully I'll get a job soon after I'm done!!).
My current situation is about £10k debt (see signature), the credit cards are the worst as my loan will be gone in a year and my overdraft will be interest-free until April 2016, so less of a rush with that one.
I had a LBM a few weeks ago, called a debt management company, balked at the idea of fees and decided to overhaul my budget- so here we go! Hoping to become DF but also have some fun on the way (and get married- oops to booking an expensive venue. But at least the wedding savings are a joint venture between me and OH!).

Hi there everyone,
I'm new to the forum too & would like to join your thread to pay off our debt by December 2015.
We currently owe just over £32,000 & have a DFD of Feb 2018, so it would be fantastic to pay it off that early!
I'm totally with you on this one! :T0 -
Hi RosieD and Bex! Welcome!
We are all in this together and will encourage each other and spur each other on. The journey can be tough and will have dark moments but there will be times when you are seeing progress and feel on top of the world - a real rollercoaster!
Look forward to sharing this journey with you.
My DFD is scheduled for August 15 all being well but you just never know what is going to happen, could be a few months before or a few months after. Either way, I'm going to be debt free relatively soon and that feels fantastic!!!

HI all
After a titanic struggle with Loyds credit card they have finally stopped the charges with agreement between the both of us. I have managed to close the card down and have stopped the charges. After I wrote to lodge a complaint about my letters being ignored as well as not dealing with mine and Step changes requests. And the fact that due to incompetence on their part for totally messing up the agreed action plan the first time they have removed all card charges apart for the first 2 months to cover when the DMP should have been started. I have been waiting for the card statement to show the correct details which it now has.:) but the whole episode has left me  mad at how banks are allowed to ride rough shod over rules and regs.
my debt free date is currently may 2015 due to Lloyds but it will fall as my new old job( taken on perm from a temp contract) is paying a lot more than what I was on contract it works out to be approx. £7000 a year before tax and I am looking forward to paid holiday time first time in 3 years :j
I am still losing weight and hope to be at my weight goal by May-July next year and enjoying my gardening and walking
so over all things have taken a turn for the better:Ddebt free as of 1/10/2014 and loving it :j
All done using YNAB and Bank tree.:cool:0 -
I was wondering if I could join this challenge I don't have any "real" debts to pay but
I owe my mum £140 and would like to save £1000+ by December 31st 2015 as well as to put back £359.00 into my savings account after using it to purchase a laptop and a Samsung Tablet.FebNSD:1/14 (TotalNSDs:12NSDs|SPC#054 £0.52(£6.00 banked)|RR#90Jan£0.07(Total:£0.07)|ES:£1.00/£50.00|£6.00/£359.00SavingsRepayment0 -
I've just been accepted for another 0% card! This is good news. All of my cards are now on 0% deals apart from 3 - one will be paid off in Jan, one in June (15.9%) and one not until 2015 but is 6.8% which isn't too bad at all.
I am very happy!
On track to pay off approx £15, 500 this year and on track to be DF in 2015!!!
