Got DS2 some long johns for his paper round. He is very happy. I had a great time in a not usual shopping venue, met a friend and picked her brains for the long johns! Clever lady.

DD2's show was very funny. She was right at the front if the stage. I know from years past that the bright coloured costumes get to the front.

Need to get dinner started. DD1 and DS2 want it early so I best get on with it!

Oh no! The embarrassment! I have left a message on an ansaphone asking someone to repair my oven. I ended it with "if you could come and have a look at me Oh err I mean it err the oven that is". I want to hide under the sofa throw. How will I show my face when they call round!

This sounds like the opening script of a 70's movie starring John Holmes.
I like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)

Huge but gentle cyber hugs coming your way LW (I am guessing that We Don't Give ATOS have been in contact then?)
Yep.:( Mr LW and I have discussed it, and he's perfectly happy for me to eventually tell 'em to shove their rubbish where the sun don't shine, he says he'll support me financially; but I still have to do the form, and just looking at it is making me feel nauseous.

Picked DD up from school; took her to her guitar lesson, from there to hairdressers, past vets, vets almost empty, came home, grabbed cat for her AUGUST jabs (vets is very popular and as there is no appointment system you can be in there two hours if busy. But it's cheap) Apparently cat is getting fat - that'll be the hoovering up of food she shouldn't be eating so tightening up on feeding regime. Came home; back out as had no arborio rice...vet complained jabs were late - just muttered I have been busy:o

ah well. Now have more screenwash and de-icer.

sleeping bags dried; ignored instructions on one of them not to tumble dry - seems fine;)

I've got a secret, LW. A huge secret.

I filled in the ESA thingummywotsit in September, convinced there would be a medical and resultant failing, so much so, I had already decided that I was going to make them work for it.

I sent the form off to ATOS and waited for the inevitable summoning.

And got put straight into the support group with no medical whatsoever.

DLA may be slightly different, but it was certainly different to whatbi expected.

There are guides online helping to explain how medical conditions affect each aspect, and the descriptors they are looking for for each one, you have to take it as calmly as possible and if needbe, do a bit at a time.

It's OK. You'll be fine whatever happens, you have Mr LW beside you. Think of it as the chance for The Wolf to raise her cry. It doesn't matter if the townsfolk don't hear her, she does it for herself and the Moon.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

  • Hi there. This is the first chance I've had to post since early in the week, and like a lot of folk at this time of the year, it's been busy.

But, the biggest part is done, hurrah! Yesterday I cleaned and shopped for sick friend (scrubbed his flat to within an inch if it's life!), then got home to a late, snack, lunch and did 3 more hours wrapping gifts and doing cards - and the bulk is done, all the stuff we are delivering to family and friends this weekend. Also started to tidy up today (I still call it a mad half-hour!), then went to work, but tomorrow we'll do floors, change the bed, do a WM and DW, then off we go for 3 days. Just texted cat sitter to double check booking (I do worry).

OH is much better and did a reasonable share of things and did tea last night, and I feel less stressed today!

I've had a quick read back and hugs and good vibes to all, especially those feeling poorly. Lamewolf, gentle hugs to you, and sometimes when you are really dreading something it's not that bad when it happens - so good luck with your paperwork.

Lots of you sound so busy with your families and jobs I feel I shouldn't moan (we are only two adults, now working part-time) but I know how things take up your time, so special thoughts to you.

Good wishes all round, R x

PS. Must tell you, robins, bluetits, wrens and blackbirds, amonst others, at the tables these cold mornings - it's a beautiful sight.
  • Well, the soon to be downstairs loo has had the coving re-painted, although working in artificial light its not as perfect as I would like....and oopsy I need to correct a small white mark on the coffee paint now - but that can wait

After being on a ladder for most of the day, my legs are swollen for the first time this pregnancy, but as I had high blood pressure and trace of protein last week I have been told off and more importantly told to get off my feet and need to ring midwife tomorrow if they are still swollen.

So I will lurk to my heart's content tomorrow and call that my half hour of ME - TIME so I will still have something to cross off the list:D:D

That said I dragged all the rubbish/recycling and compost caddy out front when I collected DD3 from her concert so that will be collected in the morning.

fb'ed DD1 earlier, she has now booked her train tickets home and arrives home next Thursday at 11.45pm .....and she has clarified she will be home til 14th Jan.....so all being well she will be coming to her sister's birth.....flybaby's parcel of syringes turned up today:j:j:j, so starting next week I will be taking time out expressing flybaby's first meals into syringes for the freezer, and at least flybaby can be given some by DD1 as soon as she is born to help with jaundice and to stop her having a hypo....and before she gets whisked off to scbu....its all coming together
The cold never bothered me anyway
  • I agree, having the flyladies and flygents here has made such a difference to my life these last few weeks :T:A:T:A...living in the behind end of nowhere with paid stuff being taken away from me, no family (DD2/3 and DS excepted) or friends within an hour's drive and getting out and talking to meet new people being an impossibility, this thread has been a real life line in every sense of the word.

The house still feels like a prison, but at least this thread forces me to go into another rooms apart from the kitchen and my bedroom at least once a week.

Pop the kettle on ionafan I will be ready for a tea and a virtual slice of stollen - ta very muchly! trying to get DS down for a quick nap before I have to chase off to collect DD3 from another concert performance.

I need to get off my feet anyway, as my ankle bones have dis-appeared - will need to ring the midwife in a bit on that one - downside of being pregnant 40+ and decrepit

ME! ME! I want tea and stollen too. I LOVE tea and I love stollen!!

Skintbreeder - you slow down and take of yourself. You are SO busy it's amazing - with or without ankles!

    Good wishes, R x
