    Thanks HB and Valli.

Tbh, if I try and say too much, I'll end up crying, so best not to try. Suffice it to say I got a horrible slimy "Giant Cane Toad" through my door the other day; I am physically and mentally unable to deal with it - physically because I literally cannot hold a pen long enough to complete even one of the narrative boxes required; mentally because I'm a wimp, and dealing with it will require me to focus on my illness/disability, and the additional stress will leave me even more of a gibbering wreck than I am currently.

Hopefully Mr LW is going to deal with it for me over the weekend, as the data centre move has been postponed til mid January, so he won't be doing the 12 hour shift on Sunday after all. I have til January 9th but as far as I'm concerned, the sooner it's out the door the better. I'm sure I shall be a lot better once it's gone; as well as my "usual" severe depression, I also suffer with SAD, so this time of year is always a bummer, and the Giant Cane Toad has pretty much put the tin hat on it.

Normal service will be resumed..... at some point.

Very successful shopping trip with some lovely company.

Going to do an hour of flying now and then recheck my various festive lists.

I agree 100% with [BValli and Honeybear. We all struggle, one way or another, and the nicest thing about flyladies is that we help each other along when the going gets tough, whatever the reason. Laughter and tears are closer companions than we sometimes like to admit.

I'm back on track today and so far have managed to clear the study and clean all the upstairs rooms. Just the living room and S&S kitchen to do. Ironing this evening, just 6 shirts and 5 pillowcases, I think, so I can catch up with the Hairy Bikers from last night and Young Apprentice it's a double firing tonight, hooray! Wherever do they find these know-it-alls?

Gentle (((hugs))) to LW, more GWS vibes to CY and family, hope your hip is better soon dancemum, warm wishes to HB (it was minus 6 degrees here early this morning!), take care SB - don't fall off your stepladder (love the eye-shadow brush idea: I generally borrow DH's modelling paintbrushes for the same purpose).

More hugs, sticks and spoons available as needed: please help yourselves. And :coffee::coffee::coffee: if anyone would like to join me. Maybe I'll even crack open the stollen this afternoon when DH comes home.

I agree, having the flyladies and flygents here has made such a difference to my life these last few weeks :T:A:T:A...living in the behind end of nowhere with paid stuff being taken away from me, no family (DD2/3 and DS excepted) or friends within an hour's drive and getting out and talking to meet new people being an impossibility, this thread has been a real life line in every sense of the word.

The house still feels like a prison, but at least this thread forces me to go into another rooms apart from the kitchen and my bedroom at least once a week.

Pop the kettle on ionafan I will be ready for a tea and a virtual slice of stollen - ta very muchly! trying to get DS down for a quick nap before I have to chase off to collect DD3 from another concert performance.

I need to get off my feet anyway, as my ankle bones have dis-appeared - will need to ring the midwife in a bit on that one - downside of being pregnant 40+ and decrepit
The cold never bothered me anyway

Bathrooms done, shopping done, tots home, heating on.

I've flicked in the constant on now, and will just control from the thermostat. It's been at 16 all day and is quite comfortable in the lr and upstairs is toasty.

Have done one of the wm loads and will do towels next. No wrapping yet as kiddies back earlier than I expected, so might do some later when they are in bed. Chicken hotpot for tea, with cauli.

Am on norovirus alert as kiddies were at inlaws last night and mil has had a bit of d&v although she kept away from them, it does spread easily. Hopefully they won't catch it...

Hugs sticks and spoons, especially for LW, do you need a new slipper by now? X

  • LW - you are in our thoughts - having been through a tribunal for DD1 to get £20 a week we understand how hard this rubbish is!

I am feeling better but am still not symptom free and so will not be at work tomorrow. DH home early - he's got a streaming cold - and if I have my way he won't be going tomorrow - he will have his feet up in front of a test match ( now there's a cue for an England collapse!)

It's freezing here - very pretty, but freezing nonetheless! Still BBC weather promises that by the time I wake up tomorrow the ice and frost will have been replaced by driving rain and howling gales.... Oh joy!
