There's something wrong with me

I am 28 and feel 20 years older with the weight of the world on my shoulders! Feel past it and on the shelf and just...tired. My 70 something year old friend just says I'm not old, I've just always been very mature for my age, even as a teenager. I can't ever look back and say I ever felt particularly young or carefree. I started worrying about ageing and dying at the age of 8!
Luckily I look about 19 and most people treat me like a child.0 -
OMG...this is such a Fab thread. I’ve not posted anything on these treads in ages (even though I do lurk around in the shadows…J) but just HAD to post on this tread…..:)
Makes me laugh reading some of the replies…..I thought it was just me…..…OMG…It’s so me……..I SO feel like a KID….:)
At the ripe OLD age of 38…with 3 kids/house/car/job…..etc….….one would think…….That I would be mature/sensible/cultured…etc….BO**ACKS…..
I SOOO am not…..I still act like a CHILD at every opportunity I get…….:)…The OH keeps telling me it’s like looking after 4 kids in the house….:)
Like most others on here when I was in my teens……….I thought 30 was old……40 was practically ancient old….and beyond that….well never thought about it…..:)
Looking around me I guess some people just grow up faster than others……Whilst other (Like me) NEVER do…..:))
Power to the ‘Young at heart’….:):jTo be Young AGAIN!!!!...what a wonderfull thought!!!!!:rolleyes:0 -
I'm still waiting to feel like a grown up, like so many others on this thread. I find it weird that I'm 'Mrs', referred to as a 'lady' and I know that 17/18 year olds must think I'm ancient and an 'adult'.
One of the best things about growing up and having a little girl of my own, is being able to go to the zoo/Sea Life centre/on the swings all over again, pretending it's for her sake :rotfl:0 -
I certainly didn't feel grown up in my 30's.
I was also lucky enough to look younger than I was, so I used to find I'd get charged child fares on the train, and if I answered the door to a salesman they'd ask if my mum was in!
I probably grew up when I was about 44, whn my parents were ill and subsequently died. Suddenly I was the one completely in charge, and was the one who was making important decisions.
I'll be 53 in March, and although I feel I have a young outlook on life, I feel that I have to accept the aging process. I have to wear varifocal glasses, and I'm going through the changes that happen to women of my age.
But on the plus side, I was mistaken for a 40 year old the other week, so it's not all bad!Early retired - 18th December 2014

I meant to say in my previous post, some people are just naturally young while others are born old.
There's someone I know who is the same age as me, and at 30 she had the attitudes of someone twice her age, and a style of dressing to match.
She's now 53 like me, and gets mistaken for someone in her 60's, so I suppose she's catching up with her lookEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Im 34 and dont feel it or look it (got ided when buying wine by a whippersnapper of 19). My nana is 84 and gets mistaken for her 60s and has a great outlook on life. I still laugh at farts and bogeys, and still buy sherbet dib dabs and millions for myself rather than grown up sweets. Only downside i have is that the grey hairs are catching up with me, and people dont believe i have a 14 yr old stepdaughter on two little ones
