Do you feel like a "grown up" yet?

OK, I married at 20, bought first home then with OH, had 4 children, brought them up, paid off mortgage, retired, lost OH - and I STILL don't feel grown up .......0

I find it the worst at work: sat around with a bunch of middle-aged white men thinking surely I am too young to be here! (sadly I am wrong).Thinking critically since 1996....0

I still don't feel grown-up

I have my own house, a 16yr old DD, am about to be made redundant for the second time, feel as if I'm 16 really but no-one has noticed (Freaky Friday?!) and if someone says to their child "get out of the way for the lady" I find myself stepping back and looking for the lady
And I'm mid 40's.

I'm in my early forties, but my head still seems to think I'm 16! My body is telling me otherwise, though. I still feel very immature at times, then like a wise old soul at others.
You're definitely not alone in how you feel, OP.From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0 -

There are a lot of people around us who are very old in age but still cannot take any decisions by themselves. The environment impact is on you as you are working at a junior post. While your junior persons are in higher position than you, they have to be serious or act as grow up person for their responsibilities because they are greater than your. I hope you understand what I mean.

I'm another who doesn't feel as old as I am.
At 35, I'm certainly old enough to be a company accountant, have a 9yo DD and a 6yo ds, a mortgage and have been married for 13 years BUT I don't feel as if I am. :rotfl:
At heart, I'm 22 - no children, no mortgage and a lifetime to decide what I'm going to be when I "grow up"!
Ah well...

To go against the grain I'm 40 and if anything probably act older than my age. I'm not one for partying to the small hours been there done that have no interest in it now. I have a good few principles that seem to be viewed as old fashioned these days too.
Due to that I think I'm often viewed as Mr boring and predictable.0 -

Errrrrrr... No. Sorry!
I don't mean to offend, but your post reads like the result of a Google translation, on a bad day.0 -

I hope to god my kids don't see me like that! I'm 43 and I don't feel, look or act like it (whatever 'it' is!). But then I think I act younger than many people my own age. I have quite a 'junior' role at work and many of the managers above me are younger than me and they seem way more grown up and serious than me.
I don't particularly want to grow up! I'm happy the way I am.
I had to thank you for your sig alone!
