Don't know really. I would imagine it would be difficult. How much would you make on your house? Would that equity fund your new purchase? Have you got jobs out there to maintain your payments? Would it not be better to sell the house and with the equity (if any) pay off the debts, and start afresh in Cyprus? WHereabouts are you looking at in Cyprus? 20 questions eh!! Lenny

How much would you make on your house?
About 100k - after moving expenses, probably about 85k realistically

Would that equity fund your new purchase?
We would look to rent over there for at least 6 months to make sure we like it!

Not at present, but will look if we decide to go for it - DH has a viable business that isn't in Cyprus already and I would look for part time admin work

Would like to, but DH doesn't know of debts and I would continue making payments as at present, with hopefully a raise in payments (I could probably increase my payments in a couple of months from now as I would get extra part time jobs to pay off as much as possible before we go - shelf stacking, chatlines etc)

WHereabouts are you looking at in Cyprus?
The east coast - Paralimni area probably.

Ohrighty. I think whilst it is a marvellous idea, moving to a new country will be stressful enough as it is without concealing the debts you have any further. I would go for it but only once you have told OH. You would probably get found out.

rich managed it she left for 6 months (if i remember correct ...or maybe 3) but didnt like it so came back home ...i have no doubt she will go again though she is one very determined person ...

i havnt had the finance to go yet but it is still a plan ...but saying that since the thread started i have been to thailand does that count lol

Thailand can count if you want it to elan I've been to Costa Rica twice since this thread was started but sadly only for holidays (wonderful holidays though - good friends, good lifestyle, good food, plenty of fun practising my Spanish). Can't wait to get there for longer!
