I remember years ago about being so pleased at being able to show letters after my name. The novelty soon wore off and I realised that they let you you use initials for all sorts of lowly qualifications nowadays.

Advanced FPC or the old banking exams fair enough but Cemap and FPC3 (or current equivalent) are not worthy of initials.

Not sure if they still do those banking exams. Cant see many bank clerks spending 3 nights a week in college for 4 years or so nowadays.

Oh come on, let the person celebrate! Surely you're not that old that you have forgotten what it's like?

    It's a sense of achievement!

    Spoil sport!

Did that, ( 3 nights at college, and 1 night late opening - no wonder Friday nights were wild in my youth)
have the T-Shirt , but not the initials as jumped ship ( banking to insurance) just before I had the final 2 exams

6-9 on a Wednesday was a killer me. 9-5 in the bank and then an hour to get to college and try and get a snack. You were praying that everyone balanced so you didnt have to wait for them.

Oh come on, let the person celebrate! Surely you're not that old that you have forgotten what it's like?

I did say that I enjoyed the novelty to begin with.

MortgageMamma, let's have a tombola for charity!

Let's all put £10 each into a pot and try to guess what interest rates will be increased to in May 2007 and another £10 for what interest rates will be in December 2007.

The winner will receive a certificate for winning and the prize money will go to the winners choice of charity.

    What do you all say?

Will you administer it for us MortgageMamma?

5.5% which will worry those with a high earnings to borrowing ratio.

An excellent idea JoeK well done, at the end of it I will also donate a lump sum of my earnings too, I don't want to specifiy how much just yet as I have no idea how much I will earn, but it will be at least a few hundred quid.

My hubby suggested a sports result prediction thingy, but being a girl I dont have a clue about all that stuff so did not want to venture that suggestion

Ok I'm in (Obviously) no we have to nominate our charities

Can we keep this to brokers, financial advisers, industry professionals and people we know well only please as I do not want to be collecting money from members of the general public, nor chasing them for it when they dont pay up.

EDIT - STAFF AND PARTNERS WELCOME

I think the base rate will decrease by 0.25% in may, I know this goes against all speculation, but I am saying it anyway!
