  • I hope you don't mind if I join in.

I need to loose weight so intend cutting out snacks eating less and more walking the dog and avoiding weight watchers etc.

use more veg and have meat free days.

Empty my antic reuse what I can and sell what's not needed.

Ditto my wardrobe I have lots of clothes that are too small so dieting will help there. then sell all the big clothes.

Will not waste anything and try to recycle as much as possible.

To do more crafts hopefully to be able to sell some or use as gifts

    To live a simpler life

    that's it for now
You can if you think you can .

On paper (spreadsheet) my expenditure works out very well and holidays are possible and 2013s are already booked. In reality I spend without thinking, buying and paying for things that are not strictly needed such as lunches out and clothes. So therefore my NYR are to spend only what my budget says I am allowed to spend and to shop, cook and wear with that in mind.

Me too, I'm always amazed how our bank balance goes down when on payday, it looked like we had loads! I intend to set a weekly spending budget and use cash only with a separate purse for groceries. It's too easy to pay on a card and completely lose track.
Sober October = 0 alcohol free days
Weight lost so far = 0lb
No spend days so far = 0
  • I need to lose some weight, so I am going to try and exercise more and eat less!!

I am going to try and cut out or down on chocolate, which is my downfall. I do eat a healthy diet, but find once I start on the chocolate, I have to eat it all. I am a pig! I envy those people who can have 2 squares of chocoalte after a meal, and put the rest away.

I am also going to start walking more. The weather is awful and it gets dark so early, but I am going to make a real effort, especilly since the nights will start getting a bit lighter after christmas.

I am planning the following (and have it all broken down on the fridge door)

Get myself into a good housework routine

Meal plan better to avoid Coop/Takeaway urges

Lose around 4stone in weight (and take up the Couch to 5k)

Declutter the house, sell/charity shop anything not needed

Create several savings pots for; DS, Christmas, Days out, and House

Decorate the house in the areas that need it,

Find a group/club or hobby so that I can socialise more

    New job!

Get myself some Hens and some Quail

Sort the garden, and grow some veggies/fruits to help with the budgets

Great idea for a thread :j

    To continue/improve:
Doing the fly lady thread. Things are messy but improving. I find it tiring but I'm persisting. To see the house getting tidier makes it very worthwhile.

Doing the Declutter, this year definitely thread. Have done challenges in there that push you to get rid of stuff eg declutter 300 things in 30 days, 10 things a day. Will do various targets combined with step by step plans for each room.

Meal plan. Could do better but I've been trying at least. To be realistic and include some convenience meals to reduce the take away spends. Best is home made. Better is conevenience versus take aways.

Daily short walks. Not achieved every day but again I'm trying.

To continue to get some long standing, overdue, financial things sorted through the sort 7 financial things in 7 days thread. I find it very hard going because I put stuff off. So far I've sorted an isa, closed some dusty savings accounts, that sort of thing.

Continue with the fabbing thread and to make a real effort to use the make up and products I have.

    Would like to
Make room for a chest freezer
    Make a decent rock cake!
Learn how to make some basics eg Yorkshire pudding, pan cakes, Madeira cake.

    :j
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!"
Less things. Less stuff. More life.
 Fab thread: Long daily walks
  • What a brilliant thread, given me some inspiration.

    - plan menus
-shop more efficiently, check out Aldi etc and look at doing a monthly bulk shop from butchers and supermarket then fresh things from the market weekly
    - budget, my maternity pay ends in February and I'm not going back to work so down to one wage
    -stop the little eBay spends
    - lose weight so I can fit in the clothes I had before I was pregnant
    - exercise, I've got every gadget I just don't use them and live on a beautiful riverbank so have miles and miles of walks and two dogs
-keep the house tidy so that housework takes a short amount of time
  • Great reading everyone's resolutions.

Lose 2 stone by healthy eating and exercising more.
No alcohol in the week (unless bday night out etc)
    Get into a housework routine
    Sell things eBay, etc
    Stick to shopping budget
    Pay off some debts
    Clear loft/garden
    Socialise a bit more
I'm sure there are lots more I could add, but they will do to start with :)

    February GC £0/£250

My goals are going to be "process" or "doing" ones rather than goals like "lose 4 stone":

    *take a walk each day
*meal plan to include lunches for me otherwise I end up eating fattening expensive things that I don't even like!
    * flylady (just level one)
    * decluttter at least one thing from the loft every week
    * no buying any craft supplies (I have so many......)
*no buying plants with cash (I can use tesco points at T&M and plant seeds).
    * only one discretionary purchase per week (be that chocolate or wine or something for the house that I don't need) and I have to wait at least 1 week after seeing something that I "want" if it costs over £3 before I buy it.
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)
