  • Mine are,

Trying to make nearly everything from scratch, I do meal times but not puddings or sausage rolls.

Make hm facial scrub (have got acne but will give it a go)

Turn hubby in to an OS - (this will be a huge task, he spends away alot on non essential things and he thinks im being anal with me turning thrifty - ANY TIPS WOULD BE FAB!)

Use breadmaker more and stick to it.

Have a go at making soap.
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

I've taken charge this year, and got a grip of quite a few things. Looking back, I'm quite pleased given our circumstances. So I will:

Continue losing weight (down almost 4st, bit more to go, esp after Xmas ;))
Continue watching the grocery spends, cut them down quite a bit last few months
Continue flylady, house is getting easier to keep on top of
Continue saving, putting as much away as I can for kiddies future

Learn to use my sewing machine properly and make more stuff
Try have a bit more of a social life
Get the kids back in their own beds :o

Its going to be a tough one for me as ive lost my way quite a bit.And been wasting money like its going out of fashion like also eating convenience and junk food instead of cooking from scratch.
    1,lose weight and get fit.
2,stop decluttering things i actally want then and buy another one.
3,learn to cook from scratch and try to meal plan.
4,re learn how to budget and effectivley plus start saving again.
just the tip of the iceberg of what i could do but i guess any start is better thab nothing.
  • 1. Stock up my new chest freezer and store cupboard so we have easy meals ready when we can't be bothered to cook.

    2. Try not to throw away any food, I threw away some mouldy bananas this morning.

    3. Start a piggy bank, £1 a day for next Christmas.:T

    4. Stick to our savings plan to hopefully pay off our mortgage early.

    5. Buy some charity shop/ jumble sale clothes and use some Dylon dye to refresh them.

    Mine are to...
    1. Get a grip with "only a few pounds" spending - it all adds up
    2. Do more batching cooking - did try this at half term and it worked, stopped me eating rubbish after a long day at school
    3. put more into savings each month - want to have a £5K emergency fund that is strictly not to be touched - currently at £3k

Me too - I've made some good progress in 2012 but some things are beginning to slip. Here are some of my resolutions but there will be more to follow: :)
    1. Continue to lose weight (but at a faster rate!)
    2. Declutter
    3. Continue organising the loft
    4. Save as much money as 2012 (even though DH will be earning less)
    5. Reduce housekeeping / food spending significantly
    6. Read all unread books before buying more
    7. Watch all DVDs before buying more
    8. Buy clothes and accessories from charity shops
    9. Get into a manageable housework routine

    Wow, that's a lot ..........

Ive done a lot with what little money i do have this year but i'm afraid money has been coming in with one hand and going out with the other.

I must get a grips with my finances next year.
