Well I kind of got good news today but think it may have a sting in it's tail.
I originally came to MSE about something called Loanguard Cover which I noticed had been coming off what was then our joint bank account with RBS. Nobody could give me a definitive answer as to whether it was classed as PPI so I left it for a couple of years. I phoned up RBS about 6 weeks ago when I'd finally decided I had nothing to lose.
I had it added up that this Loanguard cover was roughly £600 but received a letter today from RBS offering me £2308!
The sting in the tail is that although the letter is in my name, the account was a joint one and although both me and my OH are supposed to be discharged from bankruptcy, he still pays £10 a week towards his so there's a chance that the accountant in bankruptcy could come after half of my OH's money. What was slightly curious is that the letter was addressed to me only and usually when it's to do with the joint account both of our names are used.
I've been in touch with the local money advice centre and he's going to talk to an insolvency expert about it but even if it's only me that gets 50% of the money, it was still 100% more than I was expecting!!If the date of the PPI payments and the original loan pre-dates the date of your bankruptcy, then the Official Receiver can claim it. That is why the OR asks if you have any PPI. I suspect that before they pay you any money they will ask you if you have ever been bankrupt.
I know this won't be what you want to hear, but thinking about it logically, if you hadn't been paying PPI that money could have gone to your creditors.
:(I was just about to say what Silvercar said;)Their have been cases of the Liquidators/OR claiming the PPI.Even if you're discharged its still supposed to go to the OR if you paid the PPI before the bankruptcy, because the bankruptcy debt hasnt been cleared. I've done lots of PPI's and from personal experience can tell you its right, but you might be lucky;);) I went into bankruptcy 14 years ago (For an extortionate shop lease!) and I could only claim PPI paid after the bankruptcy and not before.Good luck;)
Morning everyone:)Thick frost here and its freezing, just having a quick catchup then loads to do.Hope everyones well and not too chilly!Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -

:money: total = £47.48 cc = 413 selling stuff = £23.00 Floor pennies = £5.790 -

Having a quick look at MSM as you do and mine shows the raffaello as not being part of the 3 for £10 so may be back as a trigger?"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138

Thanks I think I've now got my head around the whole apg/pp thing!
(And just to make sure) .....
If it was the other way round (on offer in Mr T) it would be better to get it in Mr A bacause of the extra 10%?

Just a quick question please for anyone who has bought one, the Dove Indulgence pink, is it really just 2 bodywashes in a pretty box or is there something else inside with it, i'e a body scrubber?
Because if not the body washes are on sale in Sainsburys for £1.14 each at the moment, so it makes the pink boxes really expensive to go round them when they aren't glitching, lol!"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138
