I also duck going under a low bridge in the big work car!! :o

CMD the key is a good instructor. One that you feel confident with. If you don't then change straight away. I failed my first driving test and 10years later I still blame the instructor for shattering my confidence on my last lesson (he actually told me that I should cancel my test after telling me for ages to book it!)

Dinah you look so tiny I wouldn't think you needed to diet!

Thank you all for the new job congratulations x

A bit late for Fab Feb but I've just ordered this pattern from Etsy, I've had it saved in my favourites for ages :)

Seem to remember that it was someone on this thread that posted it originally?

Oooh so pretty Beccie! Is crochet difficult to learn? I think I'd rather know how to make things than rely on my MIL whenever I fancy something pretty I've seen on t'internet. :o

I really struggled at first, so if you have someone who could show you in person it would help a lot!

I used a combination of YouTube, Attic24's amazingly clear tutorials and throwing it across the room on a regular basis :p

Urgh. I'm here and vv bored too! I finally finished the first draft of my introduction. Reading it through is so depressing though. It's just a jumble of thoughts with no proper structure. My friend suggested printing everything out and cutting and sellotaping it all together into a new proper order. So I'm about to have a PhD craft session. Not feeling very hopeful that it will work.

What are you up to Tete?

I can't believe it's nearly the weekend, it's just a moment since I posted asking everyone's plans last week!

Good news about the job Starnac, congrats. And good luck with the driving CMD. I didn't learn and I'm 30 now, boo.

    Love the owl blanket Birdie!!

I'm super bored too. :( Don't understand what I'm supposed to be doing right now AT ALL so instead I've been skiving for the last 3 days as the 1 person who can actually help is never available! Oh well. Only 1 more day left. :) I'll tell you what though, trying to look busy is harder than actually working! :p

Got some crafting planned for tonight, hopefully I'll actually finish what I started yesterday before I got sidetracked. :o

  • It's true Birdie! :( I have plenty to do really (PLENTY) just can't face it this aft and want to go home. I feel coldy and sore throaty but I think it has more to do with the heaters than anything else. I should really be looking at what on earth I'm going to do next re. course but I feel a bit lost :o

What crafting are you doing? Getting in a late make for Feb? I think this has been my least creative month in about 2 years haha!

Sounds like you're making good headway Lara - keep going!

Meant to echo the others before CMD in saying that a nice instructor is key to driving. I had one when I was 17 (and shier than now) who was really sarcastic and would say things like "Is there a bomb in the car?" and I wouldn't have a clue what he was on about until we were right down the road and it turned out he was talking about the clicking of the indicator which I'd left on  - I was such a nervous driver with him - failed my test horrifically (was on the wrong side of the road at one point) and was put off trying again until I was 25. That said though, I LOVE being able to drive, love the freedom it gives me- it must be that x100 if you have kids!

Mum and I have also decided to start going to aqua zumba on a Monday night, hopefully this will help shift a few lbs and also it's a challenge to me to be not only away from Grace at a set time every week but to trust NIM with dinner and bedtime, AND to be non-contactable by phone for that hour. Eeek!

Cue Grace and NIM to be both supping on a Guinness when you get back.
  • Thanks for all the support ladies!

Shrimpy - yes it was you I was thinking of!

Dinah - as always, it sounds like you have a great handle on the finances!

Lara - I admire you so much for doing a PHD. I don't think my brain cells could cope with that :)
