Just popping on quickly to ask if getting a £3,000 pay rise can be considered part of March Madness?Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

Divide it by 12 and remove the tax, NI and any other pre tax expenses and then you can. Lucky sod

Thanks guys. It's not confirmed yet but is 99% definitely happening. Basically - in our department there are 2 teams, I kind of float between the 2. There was a band 5 job going in one team (i'm currently a band 4) but I didn't apply because it was a one year fixed term contract. They interviewed this week, they didn't like any of them, I was asked why I hadn't applied and was told I could be seconded to the post, since I already do the job when I work for that team anyway. I have to go through an "interview" on Monday which apparently is just a formality but I am still quite nervous about it. Oh and it looks like the job will be made permanent after the 12 months anyway so I won't have to go back to being a band 4, but my old job will still be there if that doesn't happen.
Apologies if that made no sense, it's Friday and I have a headache.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
I had an unexpected kit day today, well half day really. Got paid £65 which is not bad for 6 hours work-though it felt like 12 as baby kavics was me and kept me extremely busy. March madness here I come.0

Just seen a great idea on pinterest I thought I'd share - to encourage exercise every time you do a workout stick £1 in a jar. When you get to £100 or the jar is full use the money to buy clothes to fit your new skinny and toned self! I love this idea, much cheaper than a diet club too!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I dont know how much to put for my march madness.. I want to join in but i have no idea how much I am able to save each month.. and doubling it just seems impossible given I only have one source.. my normal salary! I think I will put £700 though as the total (£350 should be easy on a normal month but this month is quite spendy so £700 will be a challenge!) Need some spending money for a holiday next month though so will be worth it! I only know how to cut back though in a way to save.. no other income earning ways really.. (I have nothing (and no time) to ebay etc)0

Hope yourself and NIM had a lovely meal Dinah
Ruby - have my fingers crossed for you for the interview tomorrow!
I have put another £100 towards March Madness. MIL & FIL were here for Max's birthday and my mother made dinner for all of us after his party so that saved us having to bring them out for dinner. When OH put Max to bed last night he said 'I had the best day Daddy'. Made our hearts melt!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

That's adorable, CMD!! How old is Max now? Time is flying on here, think all the MSE babies are secretly a new generation of Time Lords or something. Great going with the MM challenge too :j
Hope everyone had a nice weekend, how was the meal Dinah?
Ours was quite spendy yesterday, but I was working all weekend so it was nice just nice to get out with OH. Didn't get my normal 13 hour sleep session yesterday though, so I'm already feeling sleepy0 -
Morning everyone
Dinah - the pattern says 5 mins per flower, although I'm pretty sure I won't be that fast! Would you like me to email it to you? Looks fairly simple although I will need to master 'magic rings' and so far they have eluded me, hence no progress on the crobots either!
March Madness is off to a good start, although progress will slow if I don't hit eBay. Lost most of yesterday to a hangover, but have listed some more books on Amazon and sorted some for trade-in
