If we took her a week I think, if we just went the two of us probably 4 days. I really am leaning towards taking her, I think she'll enjoy it, and its such a long way to go for 4 days.

To Spain. I took my Mum to the south of France last September, we hired a donkey to carry the bags and walked to a different hotel each night. Unfortunately she fell and broke her arm which spolied her enjoyment of it a bit :( So I've found somewhere more easy going 2 hours from Madrid, with a donkey etc the same. I'm just a bit worried about me doing the driving to get there!

I think I just think we're a family now, I'd rather do things as a family, and yes it won't be as easy, we won't eat anywhere as fancy or get drunk on cocktails, and we'll probably be in bed by 8pm, but we'll also probably smile a whole lot more seeing her grin at the animals in the zoo, run about in central park, eat a giant cupcake, go on the boat and see the statue of liberty etc.

I think that sounds great Dinah. :) You're right that you're a family now, things change but you can still have a wonderful time. You enjoyed NYC as a couple, now enjoy it as a family. :)

Your trip sounds great too Beccie! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

I am the same Dinah, hence why Poppy is coming on our honeymoon. Just keep thinking of seeing her enjoy everything!

    Beccie - holiday sounds fun!

For anyone with slightly older children, how would they have been in a restaurant or show at 18 months? Would they have been interested or just screamed the place down?

Have to admit I am of the opinion that if you chose to have kids then its for life. I don't agree in having kids then going on couple only holidays as you are no longer a couple, you are a family. Sorry but that's my opinion.

I am slightly jealous of all the holiday talk. We haven't even started looking at holidays yet cos work wise everything is up in the air at the moment so need things to settle a bit before we can book anywhere.

By the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY TETE

It depends on how sociable they are really. DS would love the restaurant with all the people and the goings on but probably wouldn't like a show as he is not keen on loud noises. DD however loves singing, music and dancing so would love a show. It depends really on what kind of baby she is. Sorry I wasn't really any help was I?

Nah it kind of helps, my gut instinct is she'd be fine as she's always been good and more curious, I don't think I've ever known her be spooked by a situation, I just don't know if that fear will kick in as she gets older.
