I'm going to have a look for somewhere for us to go so I can look forward to getting away, even if it's just for a night.
Sofa looks nice and comfy Cinny!

Afternoon everyone
Cinny, the sofa looks gorgeous and so comfy! If it's 0% finance then I'd go for it and just make sure it's paid off before you accrue any charges.
Dinah, that dress looks gorgeous.
Birdie, I know how you feel.....I think it is something to do with the time of year but a little trip would hopefully give you the breathing space and time to yourselves. Hope you feel better soon.
I finally got OH to go through the finances with me over the weekend and the results were shocking. he was paying £7/month for an extended warranty and we don't even know what for so that got stopped. Then I've got him sorted to switch to a 0% credit card so that's an improvement. The biggest shock was going through my account and seeing that the 3 dogs have cost me over £800 in the last 3 months - and that's just what I've paid and doesn't even take into account the £79/month pet insurance for them all  We worked it out that between us for the year they cost about £200/month :eek:! I wouldn't mind but we don't even give them fancy food or anything and I buy the worming pills off the internet, which are MUCH cheaper than the vets. At least we have decided to put extra money into the joint account and anything dog related comes out of that and we'll see how we go.
Right, hope everyone has a good day xLet's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:Virgin CC £9793.710 -
Glad the finances are looking a bit better Pilchard.
Sooooo tired. Found it really difficult to get to sleep last night, finally got to sleep sometime after 11, Grace woke me at 3.15, was allowed back to sleep sometime after 5am and finally fell asleep at about 5.30, but then we were up again at 7.40..... would be fine if I'd slept in one run not two naps. I keep thinking how much I want to get up and clean/iron/craft but Grace is napping and I just can't bring myself to do anything other than catch up on emails or read the news.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

That dress is gorgeous Dinah! Guess I know what I'm going to spend all evening perusing...
Glad you're getting the finances sorted Pilchard! I'm the one responsible for the savings in our relationship. We have an ISA where the house deposit and wedding money is sitting at the moment. Then i have a savings account for my VSP and another for car stuff that is actually going towards paying off the credit card at the moment. Probably should look around for a higher interest paying ISA for next year because I don't think I'm getting that good a rate.
That sofa is really nice Cinny. We looked at CLS when we were sofa shopping but they were a bit too big for our flat.
I hope you manage to get away for a little break Birdie, it sounds like you need it.
Been sat at work doing pretty much nothing all day today because my new computer I got last week is broken already. It appears that the anti-virus thinks that anything I try to do or open is a threat and immediately stops the process. I'm not the only one apparently, it's a network wide issue. Hope it's sorted by tomorrow because I don't want to waste another day!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Hope you had a lazy day in the end Dinah.
Tink, I'm saving a little bit. I have the 8% regular saver from First Direct, but I now they've just pulled that so that's no use. Then I grabbed an easy access Natwest saver account at a 2.8% offer which I feed the regular saver with. I have an ISA too which has the money I have saved for a car in - I could probably get a better one but I'm not too bothered until my regular saver matures and I have a lump sum I'll want to do long term things with as I save for a house deposit.
But basically I just keep an eye out on here for good saving offers then snap them up!
Cinny - I'd probably go for the credit option if it's 0%. I got a new laptop from Argos the other week, as I could have saved up for 6 months. But I knew my current laptop would be dead by then, and this way round I could ebay it and put that money towards the new one.
Sorry you're feeling blue Birdie

Thanks for all of the input on savers I just think the balance between cash and Isas etc is hard to decide and it feels piddly to change accounts for about 1% if you see what I mean..! I have some baby premium bonds I think (-as in from when I was a baby) but I've hardly ever won and always £25 max!
Birdie hope you feel a little better and if there's anything we can do just post!
Love that dress dimah but don't think it screams demure bride! Would be great for a flash party though!
I need a facimator/outfit for a wedding in march.. I have a greenish dress I, thinking about, has anyone seen anything/any good looking sellers on easy/similar? I like the ones which have the comb on them or I want something more half-hatty (if that makes any sense?)
All of the crafting is putting me to shame! I have no inspiration, or materials or event to craft for but I might try a valentines card..0 -
What is the dress you have like Tink? If you want to keep your options open and go for something neutral Debenhams have some nice cream/white/silver fascinators in the sale right now. You can always get some feathers in the same colour as your dress to tie it in.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Quick request, if anyone is perusing ryanair in the next few weeks and notices a sale on flights in May please can you post and let me know - currently looking at £1500+ for the 6 of us to go to my cousin's wedding, but on the sale tickets they currently have up in April it's £567 so a lot better.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
