I worked for a TA as a year and yes, the pay is truly dreadful! From memory I think I took home around £750 a month (about six years ago) - as you say Tete, even though I was there Monday - Friday, school hours were only 9-3.30, and break times were unpaid, so it only worked out as 5 hours a day/25 hours a week. I worked both weekend days and holidays too for my previous employer but at the time I enjoyed both jobs so it wasn't too bad.

The house should definitely be finished by the end of the month, the kitchen is the main thing now as the cupboards all came down for plastering, but that is dry now so we can paint and put them back up. Then that just leaves the lounge, porch and hall/stairs/landing to paint and a bit of wallpaper to go up (planning to make myself scarce for that one!) When I say it like that and really quickly it doesn't seem so bad does it?!

Good luck getting your words done Lara!

Definitely feels weird to be coming home, feels like I only just left! But I've missed English food so so much so I'm excited planning all the stuff I'm gonna eat! :D

Tete I'm so sorry to hear about the interview, it's such a horrible feeling. Positive thoughts for plan B though :)

Hope you're having a great birthday Dinah!

I'm gonna do my own massive clear out when I get home as I need to be able to leave the country again without leaving so much stuff everywhere. How many cookbooks do people have? I saw a comment that you have loads Dinah? I have about 80 () and I know I need to get rid of some but I won't know which - I love them all! :o

Crikey Zig, 80 cookbooks?! I think I've got about 6 as I got rid of the ones that I never so much as looked at never mind used. :)

How has everyone's crafty weekend been? Been reading the FB updates but on my tablet and I'm useless at using it to reply to anything so didn't bother! :o I've made some Valentines cards and I made a quick no-sew scarf on Friday. Will post pics tonight. :)

It's our 'secret' wedding anniversary today (of our registry office do) so I'm going to make a little cake of some sort for OH tonight. :) Got a crazy cool idea for it but no idea if it will work! :)

Looking forward to seeing your scarf Birdie :)

I crocheted at all available moments over the weekend so hopefully should have something to show in the next couple of days.

    Happy 'secret' anniversary Birdie!

I spent friday and sat evening at my parents cutting up the card for my invites. Will be doing los of sticking together over the next few nights. Will try and add a pic on facebook of progress so far.

Got some news on Friday that landlord is selling our flat so we need to move out by April. Is fine as we wanted to try and move to a house soon anyway but didn't really want to do before the wedding.

Realised though that we had our address as RSVP on the wedding invites so now got to re-print all that and using my parents address instead!

Oh that's annoying about the address change Wendz! Hope you find a nice new place to live and it's not too stressful moving. :)
