Don't know what you mean about my badminton incidents Poddle, I only hit myself in the back of the head twice the last time I played! :p

    :rotfl:

Do you think you'll be adding to the football team at some point Poddle? You'd make gorgeous babies! :)

*blushorama* thanks Birdie, but it's not on the immediate agenda. The bundle of joy I'm planning is 4 weeks in Central America at the end of the year :D We wouldn't be completely DF by then, and obviously we'd be diverting £3-4k that could be used for repayments, but we'd start 2014 with manageable debt and possibly start trying then.

My friends are still (not so) secretly disappointed that we didn't get pregnant on honeymoon - they were super excited about baby Havana :p

Re Pilates, goody! I could do with an extra few inches :D I'm booked in for 6 sessions so I hope I like it. The last time (and only time) I did yogalates I spent most of the class chasing my bouncy ball across the studio, rather than balance it on my back while I was in a zen-like cat stretch! So fingers crossed...

Tete, how about making it a £1k challenge? I was thinking that the end of the year might just be too tough, so I might aim to get to week 44 with £1000ish sometime in early November. Then you'd instantly feel better off in time for Christmas!

I was thinking around £20 a week actually, that would come to £1040 which isn't too shabby.

Wow I'm so jealous of your Central America plans! Shame about Baby Havana but a quick glance at a map of Panama highlighted Baby Bocas de Toro ;) - lovely!

I have been surprisingly good. I think it is helping that i have something to aim for. Oh has been pigging out on chocolate, crisps etc and i have been very good and not touched any. Think it will be hard mantaining till july but guess at least if i have any slip ups i have time to rectify.

The saving challenge does sound good but we are saving as much possible at the moment anyway for the wedding. Dwefinately couldn't cope with the bigger numbers.

Glad you enjoyed rock of ages Ruby, would like to see that one. Hope the eyes ok.

Poddle - central america sounds amazing!

Nice to see you back Beccie! What did you get up to in Africa?! :)

What are the plans for America Poddle?! Exciting! :)

Feeling like I'm back in the game challenge-wise, 3 bags of books (45 of them!) for the charity shop! Is that 3 things or 45 things?! :) I had a nice clean and sort of the bookcase too, tucked my printer away nice and neatly on its own little shelf, it's been a bit of a hobo since we got it, never finding a real home so it looks quite happy with its new spot! :T

Good to see that Gracie is going after new and interesting foods :) Not that I'm a mother (obviously), but I think there's a lot to be said for doing what feels right.
That's kind of how I feel. I wouldn't give her cola or anything salty, or things that have ingredients made in a lab, but if it's natural sugar I'm really not bothered. She gets lots of custard, yoghurt, fruit mousse etc anyway as we're pushing her so hard to gain weight.

The only way I'm going to be able to save those kinds of amounts in the second half of the year is if I earn the extra cash... now there's a challenge! :)
I'm the same, but I figure it will keep driving me onwards. Especially since everything is so up in the air about returning to work.

Sorry you're struggling with work Flower, I'd hate to be feeling hounded like that every day to go in, especially as some people really know how to make you feel guilty about 'only' doing your contracted hours.

This is pretty much what happens! I do my contracted hours and then made to feel guilty because the shop is so busy and I havent done any overtime. I have that many phonecalls from work that I completely broke down the other day and told them it was rediculous and I cant do it anymore. Surprisingly I was listened to then, but we'll see how long it lasts....
I feel like screaming at them "if I wanted to come back full time I would of!!".
    Rant over :D

I thought about that 52 week challenge and would a good way be to alternate I.e. £1 w1, £52 w2, £2 w3, £51 w4... Or actually that would just be £53/ fortnight or £26.5/ week... Maybe ignore me!

I'm going to stick to the trad route, I like the idea that by increasing it by £1 a week it builds slowly and gradually becomes a part of your accepted budget, rather than being a big step change, but I can see how Tink's way of spreading it out through the year would work well for people too.

Morning all! I didn't just stop with the books and printer re-homing last night, got rid of some CDs too (that MM wouldn't take last year so they just ended up back on the bookcase for some reason!) and some other little things that apply to me de-junk-wise (using up a posh body lotion-one less thing to clutter up my bathroom, walking home for lunch as I need the exercise but I've been too lazy of late and drive most days, drinking my water :)) so I'm now at a grand total of 81! :T Woo! Think I'll be tackling the abyss tonight i.e. the cupboard under the kitchen sink!

That said, I was absolutely tuckered out after that last night since I ended up cleaning as I went (I even washed all the vases, what's gotten into me?!). All good but since I was struggling to breathe and feeling generally like rubbish, it was pretty hard going and I looked like death when OH got home! :) He appreciated the hard work though; think he's wondering what's going on but I don't want to tell him about the challenge as I know he'll just start binning stuff randomly without checking it and the thought of that makes very scared indeed! :p Anyway, it's *my* challenge, it would be cheating to drag him into it! :)

I'm not sure how to go about the 52-weeker. Think I'll try to stick to the traditional way but add extra as and when I can to even up the times when I can't make the full payment. :)
