So sorry to hear about your Dad, Tete. Hope the chemo does the trick, and hope 2013 is a thousand times better for you both
Hope the clear blue helps you get a better track on everything Birdie, please don't let it get the better of you. You know where I am if you want a talk.
400 books is insane, but oddly I wouldn't expect anything less with all the amazing sounding meals you come up with. You should do a big sale on a market or something. You'd make a killing!
The challenge sounds like fun but I'm not sure how I'd join inWe don't really have anything in the way of selling and we only recently cleared every room out so that's a no go too.. Willing to take on ideas?!

It's not just about physical junk, but emotional and virtual junk too, anything you feel is holding you back. Ofc if you're happy with everything in life then fantastic, you don't need challenges!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Really sorry it wasn't better news with your dad Tete, but I'm hopeful that they can stabalise it and am remaining positive that this is by no means the worst news you could have had xDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

De junk so far today, 1 stack of books (quantity unknown), 1 mirror I got from my auntie and her husband (now deceased) in 1999, it's falling apart but I never felt I could bin it, but realistically I don't need every single sentimental scrap. Also sold one more book on amazon. 10 empty black Lush tubs that I've had 2+ years and never traded in for 2x free face masks. An alarmingly large box of coat hangers. Sorted bits for ebay. About to sit down with another box of books to sort. The attic is currently blocked by a box labeled 'NIMs rubbish' - from before he moved over. That label alone is teasing me, never mind the fact it's blocking the entrance to the attic!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

That box has been reused several times, the "Rubbish" label is from Lemonfield and was cleared before it left the Tait to go to the apartment. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
I know - but 'rubbish' when I'm on a de-junk mission is a red rag to a bull.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Off to a good start Dinah! The thing I did find when we got rid of a load of books and DVDs was the space that they left behind on the bookcases! Bit strange trying to find things to go on there that are both useful and decorative since they were just used for storage and we didn't have room to think about the decorative aspect of it all.
I keep thinking of things to sort out now; going to be very busy over the month going through cupboards and drawers and baskets and bookshelves (you get the drift).Made a [strike]little[/strike] long list of every area that needs work so if I find myself wondering what to do it should work as a reminder!
I need to be more proactive at home too so this is a great plan for me in the long run.
Now if I could only finally shake off the toxic friend who keeps plaguing my life I'd count that as 100 things cleared!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
So colour over it, do we still have a VERY large pile of Cardboard outside the house?
Birdie toxic friends are like band aids, do it slow and they hurt like hell, do it quick and its done with...at least in my experience, and I'd be fairly sure D agrees with me on this one. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
Nope, bin men took it thankfully. And I don't think they'll fine us as they all gave Grace a wave as she was bopping up in down in the window in excitement at the flashing lights on their truck.
Found 4 LARGE boxes of CDs in the attic, and I can see at least 1 more, so I now have enough stuff in the lounge to amazon and music magpie for at least a couple of days. I'm trying to be all zen and go virtual, NIMs dad doesn't really keep paper of anything and it seems to work really well for him, so all music will be digital, all movies on a hard drive as our tv takes a usb drive etc.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

He'll be delighted to know he's such an inspiration. Think we could do the same with the MOUNTAIN of bank statements etc we have? This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0
