Definitely a kindle convert, didn't think I would be but I LOVE it. Now I just need to work out something to do with all the paperbacks, the idea of shifting about a ton of books from my house is really liberating.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Count me in.
I think that I will have to make a list to get me started, as I am not even sure where to begin. I have had the flu so I haven't done as much as a thought I would get done. I have a lot of marking to do so I might start with that.
Eta: I have starting listing ideas for the next three days using an app called errands. I have had it for some time but not used it in a while. It allows me to put dates on and state of it is a work and personal task. It's free from the App Store if anyone has an Iphone.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

Happy new year everyone!
Hope you all enjoyed yourselves and looking forward to going back to work!
Challenge sounds good Dinah! Not sure how I'll quite manage the full amount of clears but I'll give it a go! We did a lot of decluttering last year so running somewhat short on easy things like CDs, books and DVDs, although I'm sure I'll find plenty of other things to clear out!As a nice way to ease myself into it I went through my e-mail account and cleared all the junk out and unsubscribed from several newsletters, got it down from ~1500 e-mails to 10! :T
As for the paperbacks, it's not very MSE to say but I tend to just donate them to charity. It's difficult to make any money out of them on ebay/Amazon etc so I like to donate mine to charity so they can make a little money. Win-win really as I get the warm fuzzies knowing that they're making money from my junk and I can donate to a good cause without actually putting my hand in my pocket to hand over the money directlyOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Happy New Year everyone!
Right this is a good kick up the backside, I've ripped 17 cds to my computer and they're packaged up for a music magpie order, Is that 2 things, or 18!? I'm still at my parents house for 2 more days and my old room is full to bursting (my current house less so), so good chance to crack on!

I'd call it 18 Archers
We're at 15 today, NIM has 14 cupboards, and I have one Amazon book already sold. 38 listed though, hopefully do a similar number tomorrow, although need to actually find some more. Did undo the good work somewhat though by downloading a new book to the kindle before I put the paperback in the to clear pile as it looked so good.
Much more annoying than the paperbacks is the big stack of cookbooks that are unread and it's not even worth listing as after fees and postage we'd be at a loss.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Happy 2013 everyone!
Great idea for a challenge, DinahI'm in! I've emptied the two drawers in our coffee table, filed all our credit card statements and finding 7 things for the charity bag... Definitely trying to ease myself in gently too!
Hope everyone's enjoyed their festive breaks and looking forward to the new year. Wendz, how exciting that you're getting married this summer - it will really fly by now!
Lara, glad you survived the family visits - I know exactly what you mean about reverting to a teenageryour pressies sound ace, I really love your tradition of cooking a new recipe every day
We have a glut of cookery books too. Maybe we should all do a swap?!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

I know
I have two full bookcases floor to ceiling of them. I look at them and realise if I hadn't bought them I might not be in debt.

Happy New Year threadies! Love the sound of the challenge and am definitely in, although I had a big jewellery and toiletries clear out yesterday, wish I'd hung on a day now
I have cleared my Barclaycard today though and it does feel amazing
but came into a little money recently so can't really take credit for it . Only a little bit on the other cc to go now! Also transferred last years calendar onto this years and threw that out. Need to think of a way to keep track as well, might have a look at that app ROTE, thanks. First on tomorrow's list is a sig update and aims for 2013, need to give it a little thought. Love the idea of looking back this time next year.
