Argh! What did you people do to the thread?! Where is the dining table? Why is the cat blue? And who the hell gaffa-taped Birdie to the ceiling?!?!

Firstly excuse the typing in this post, in the last 2 weeks Grace has g
gone from a cutie baby to a very curious and destructive toddler. She's sat on my knee and has already pulled 2 keys off my laptop. She only started crawling 2 days before we left and now not only is she moving like lightening but she's pulling to stand on EVERYTHING and then letting go and firing herself backwards, so she needs hands on at all times. I don't dare go to the loo until she naps for the fear she could do to herself. Hmmm, is it child cruelty to shut her in the shower (turned off!) so I can pee?

We had a nice holiday, that amount of travelling with a toddler was tbh fairly nerve jangling, and we won't be doing it again for quite a while. Grace had had a runny nose for about 2 weeks before we went, and when we got there it was so much worse, and her first day on Paros she could hardly breathe, couldn't sleep for retching, but tellingly her eyes were really puffy, red and streaming. I think our little girl has hayfever. So we took her to the pharmacist and got an anti-histamine which really helped although she's still had the runny nose just in a much better way. Going to call the doc when they open and see if they agree with the pharmacist and if we should have her on this or something else.

As always on a holiday I came back feeling renewed to fight and have a whole new outlook, this was somewhat nullified by a letter on the counter from my work asking me to come in tomorrow to discuss a 'conclusion to your case', but I'll write more about my epiphany in a separate post, probably even start a new thread.

Tete - maybe we could inspire/bully each other weight wise? I need some tough love tbh! Am buying some scales tomorrow as don't have any in the house - am preparing myself for the worst...

Done! I weighed myself this morning and was sad to see I'd put on a pound since last weigh-in, but then remembered last week's +4lbs after the race (which I didn't log anywhere) and didn't feel so bad. I would LOVE to be under the 10st mark by my trip to London in 2 weeks but that means losing 6lbs... :undecided Lunch today is quiche and salad ... and no chocolate or crisps!!

Welcome home Dinah, NIM and Gracie, look forward to the new thread!

Why do I think it's crazy cute that Gracie has hayfever?! Bless her! :) Hope the anit-histamines make her feel better, I've been a bit wheezy myself these last few days.

Glad you had a good holiday, was the wedding lovely?! :)

JDIJ for me is all flat-updating related tasks! Going to paint *at least* the hall and bathroom and we're getting blinds fitted on all of our windows (lets not get too excited about this, we've only got 2 windows and a french door! :p). Getting a rep from Hillary's round on Thursday and excited about finally having posh windows! Hoping they'll make the bedroom darker too, we've got a roman blind ATM and it hardly blocks any light, I have to sleep with an eye mask on! :o

Oh and I guess I should share my news with you all since half of you have already found out (sneaky lurkers! :p) so it seems strange to keep it quiet from the rest of you... I finally got my positive pregnancy test yesterday! :j All being well, there'll be a baby Birdie in early February! :D

Not-so-sneaky congratulations Birdie! Also grinning far too manically for a Monday, work will be thinking I've slipped something in my tea!

Um, I actually split the lining of my skirt today due to additional poundage so am feeling ashamed and determined in equal measure (and grateful it was only the lining!) Am armed with chicken salad and celery sticks for lunch and ready to Just Do It!

Ps I can only post on my phone at work so apologies for any typos that may occur - I don't want to appear in your weekly column Tete!:p

Haha, don't worry I can't see any glaring errors Shrimpy ;) Yikes to the lining but it's stuff like that that motivates I guess! I'm going swimming later too, but annoyingly the adults-only session isn't til 7pm so I'll be starving by the time I get my tea :(

EDIT - after a bit of (Yahoo answers) research, I'm going to chance eating my tea at 6 and bing in the pool at about 7.15. If I feel terrible I won't do it again!
