We better think about putting the hoover round this place before parent folk get back and we are all grounded.
We need to get rid of the empties out the kitchen as well!
PS - If they ask about the £20, we will tell them we had to use it for a food emergency.0 -

If we put the empties in next door's bin then ours won't rattle and we won't get busted!!
Good thinking about the £20 :TGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Problem is going to be the broken chair and the marks on the carpet. How long before the parents are back?0

Well it is now June so a recap of this months challenge courtesy of Dinah. (Hope they are having a fab holiday)Right, plenty of advance notice since I go away next week. June's challenge. Not a particularly catchy title - Just Do It June. The idea of this one is simple, pick something you've been putting off and do it. This is one thing for the whole month. This is your number 1 priority, but it can be whatever you want. So for example you could finally clear a certain credit card, or shift 5lbs, decorating the study, or finish knitting that scarf you began last winter. The important thing is you commit to whatever task you set yourself and Just Do It.
My JDIJ is going to be the dining room. All the carp that is in there will be sorted through, donated, sold or thrown out; wallpaper stripped; walls repainted (we've already got paint) and the table and chairs set up again so that we can use it as a proper dining room. All this done in a month.
What is everyone else doing for JDIJ?Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
I'm on a house organising / DIY tip too Star. I just want to finish what I started, a list is below. So much has been going wrong!!! _pale_ But I am sure we will get there in the end.
Kitchen:
Worktop fitted - done
Clean cupboards and re-organise - nearly done
Sort cutlery drawer and under sink - awaiting delivery, need IKEA trip
Splashback tiling - found crumbly plaster than needs fixing
Fit new pipe cover - builders straightened new worktop so now pipe cover is 5mm too long
Sort out carousel cupboard - builders cut out the only place where that can fix onto. Completely stuck for ideas.
Closet:
Edge shelves - done
Fit batons and shelves - batons not straight, and shelves seem to have bowed, needs further investigation
Juliette Balcony:
Repaint - done
Put back - aaargh, won't screw back in! The thread has failed in the scary brick anchor bolts:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
I'm definitely going to lose this extra weight I have gained since Christmas for JDIJ, as well as getting all my wedding DIY bits finished. I don't think I'll manage a stone in a month but I will get as far as I can with it. Need to reacquaint myself with Jillian!
Lara - I hope the DIY gets better, its so frustrating when one 'simple' job turns into a multitude of stinky jobs. I hope we get the closet reveal in JDIJ (no pressure though)!Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
Well I have been pretty productive in the last couple of weeks actually but the two things I still haven't faced head on are - losing weight and ebaying the piles of [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] highly desirable items I'm surrounded by. So they are my two aims, nice and simple.
Augh Lara, sounds like two steps forward, one step back on all your projectsI would love a closet reveal too, can't wait to see the finished article.
Good luck everyone!! xWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Tete - maybe we could inspire/bully each other weight wise? I need some tough love tbh! Am buying some scales tomorrow as don't have any in the house - am preparing myself for the worst...Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0
