LOL, sorry Tete! I forget that there are still several unmarried women on here worrying about their wedding night and what happens; didn't mean to scare you! ;) Just lie back and think of England... and there are no bananas involved! :rotfl:
Hope for a banana, if you're unlucky you'll get a runner bean. Then it really will just be a 'special cuddle'.

Don't tease me about crashing your wedding Shrimpy, I'm so tempted to turn up wearing a moustache so you can't turn me away! ;)

Because you'd let in the woman in a pretty hat and a mustache, but turn her away in just the hat.

Hi everyone. Sorry for going awol, for whatever reason MSE unsubscribed me from my own thread, so I was coming on to ask how everyone was as you'd all been quiet since last week - I should have known better!

Cute bag Wendz, glad you had a good hen do. Eeek to Poppy's head though, I'm glad she's okay and it was better than it looked.

Really enjoyed our weekend meet up, was great seeing everyone. Clearly it was only me who found the ceramic painting relaxing not stressful! Will have to see about the next meet, Grace definately can't come as she has swimming lessons on a Sunday so will depend if NIM is working or if he can have her for the day so I can come. Will only have the one car by then so if I can come will definately take your offer up of a lift Birdie.

News in our world, motly focussed on poor Grace being poorly. She has a really rotten cold. We thought she was just teething, but it's definately a cold. Two nights ago she only slept for about 2.5 hours, then last night she was great, went straight down at 9ish, then woke again crying at 9.50 and 10.30, then again at 1.30. The first two times she settled just with the dummy and mobile, but the third time she was crying so much, but as soon as I held her she calmed down and went back to sleep. Tried to put her down, hysterical. Sat up on the sofa for 20mins while she slept cuddled in, tried to put her down again and yet again, hysterical. So I took her into our bed and she was perfectly happy just cuddled into me so I let her stay there last night, and it was actually the best nights sleep I can remember having. Not for NIM so much as Grace rolled quite a bit onto his side so he slept clinging to the edge. Strangely she was really struggling to breathe without sounding like Darth Vader in her cot, but in our bed she was breathing much easier and nowhere near as fast.

Bit of a pain on Friday, the wheel of our buggy has cracked. So I'm going to call the place we bought it today, see if I need to find the receipt as it is only 6 months old so should still be under warranty. I did go and buy a stroller in Mamas and Papas on Sunday (more expensive than mothercare I know, but the quality is so much better often, and this one was reduced from £165 to £69 to actually has all the built in sunshade, rain cover, padding etc you don't normally get for a basic buggy and mum paid for most of it anyway) so that's arriving on Thursday, will at least be able to get her about without the sling then as she's so heavy now I can't use it for a full day out.

Think I pulled a bum muscle I never knew I had at ice skating last night. The teacher told me my stops were more of slows, and if I wanted to learn to stop I needed sharper skates or more weight!

Saw the obstetrician yesterday, he was very positive, but really hammered home the importance of exercise to holding off pre-e next time. So need to start building that up if we want to try for another baby in the next 2-3 years. I was mostly surprised that medical care has changed for pre-e since I had Grace, yet hardly at all since mum had me, in the last 18 months they've changed which are the main bp medications they use, and also put women on vitamin D as soon as they get a positive if they're considered high risk. I'm feeling more optimistic than maybe I should be about things.

Moneywise things are ticking along. Debt hasn't gone up or down this month, but that's still a win in my book since NIM hasn't had a wage and we've been getting ready for a holiday. I'm very sick of the debt now, but I'm also positive that NIM has lots of work in the pipeline and this time next year if nothing changes we should be well clear of it.

Just realised we haven't had a May challenge!

Shhh, I realised that on about the 10th. What kind of challenge would people like for June? Lifestyle, money etc?

I should say money because I need to save but I do better at the lifestyle/creative ones ha!

I can pick you up from home and take you to the next meet if you like rather than get the train? Also are you going to email/PM what we owe you for Saturday too, I've lost track a bit (must be the prosecco)?

    Hope Gracie feels better soon!

Nim has the receipts, I've seen him for about 20 mins today so will ask him to work it all out and pm everyone tomorrow. Thanks for the offer of the lift x

Poor Grace. I have a cold so know how she feels. I couldn't get back to sleep after poppy woke up last night. Is horrible when you lie down and can't breath properly.

Hope you manage to sort the buggy, the companies are usually pretty good.

Ouch at the bum muscle! The skating lessons sound fun though,

That sounds like they have made some good improvements to help prevent the pre-eclampsia.

I am struggling with money this month. Am having to take from wedding savings rather than add to it which is not good!

Lol Birdie, except a LOT less romantic, hehe. Should be nice though. No Internets = no procrastination at least...

Aww poor Grace, both of us have had the cold too. Just when the weather picks up, it's rotten. Also great to hear that the debt has not risen, just think a year is no time at all to be DF.

Another chunk has come off my tooth today :( It's been fractured since i fell on it as a kid, and I lose a bit every couple of years. But it's getting to the point that I'm going to need to start saving for mega expensive dental treatment weeeeeep. Hate to think I will run out of money from August onwards. Poor OH will have to bring home the bacon on his own.

Not good about the tooth Lara! :( Is it worth looking into Denplan or similar if you don't already have it?

Hope Gracie's feeling better, poor little lamb. :)

Glad that the Obstetrician appointment went well and you feel positive about having a 2nd child. The changes to pre-e care may have come too late for Grace but great news that they're now in place for future pregnancies! :)

Hoping for a creative rather than money-related June challenge... mainly because I SUCK at money challenges! :o Anyway, how's the Glamour Closet coming along Lara?!

Oooh I know what I want to do at some point if it can fit into a challenge... I want to paint the hall and bathroom and I'm even thinking about painting stripes in the hall! Need the push (and a little confidence :o) to get that done! :)

Sorry to hear you're struggling for money right now Wendz, hopefully once the wedding's out of the way you'll have loads of spare money! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Aw sorry to hear Grace is poorly Dinah. Good news on your appointment though and glad you're feeling more positive. Has NIM started work now? (Sorry NIM but the autocorrect changed you to BIN) Hope Poppy is ok too after her bump Wendz, sounds like she gave you a fright!

You ladies and your banana comments did make me giggle, slightly concerned about the wedding night now :rotfl:

If you haven't scoped out his runner bean yet don't worry, you're unlikely to have enough of a frame of reference to know if you've got a banana or the whole fruit basket :D

He's had his induction for the bank care work job, but nothing yet on the full time one.

Dinah glad the appointment went well.

I could do with a money challenge cos finances are dire at the moment but like everyone else I seem to do better at the lifestyle challenges so maybe that would be better for my self esteem which seems quite low at the moment :o
