The Ultimate Incentive natters on. Part 9

Morning ladies and poolies. New week, new start. We're moving forward as best we know how, what will be will be. My counselor keeps telling me to only focus on what I can control here and now, and 18 months away when NIM would go to uni is a long time off and anything could happen to affect plans between now and then.
NIM is going back to Ireland this weekend to see poppa NIM and momma NIM, Grace and I are staying here and going to the Dales Food Festival with momma Dinah. Hopefully going back home and a few days away will focus NIM again and get him looking more positive on the events of the last month.
I've restarted my blog (one of them) to give me some space to record some of the drivel in my head I don't feel fits here. I need to work out how to get that godforsaken background off it as I hate it now!
Moneywise, we're pootling about. We've got lots of breathing room in terms of space for balance transfers, clear overdrafts etc, but overall the debt is now at about £13k. It doesn't seem like a huge number given it has been double that in the past, but it seems huge in terms of our earning potential right now. I really, really wish we had a clean slate.
Thank you all for commenting on the uni plan, it's interesting to hear so many opinions. As a board response, no I'm not happy to work full time, but I accept the nessessity. Whether NIM goes to uni or works full time in care our income/available money will be broadly similar, me going part time only worked on his old wage, so that ship has sailed really. However it is likely that I can drop to 34 hours over 4 days, rather than 37 over 5, the childcare/after tax wage difference on those 3 hours vs a full day at nursery isn't huge, and I can start work at 7am, NIM can take her to nursery on a morning, and I can still be back to pick her up at 5ish. I've said it for a long, long time, but if I can only find a way to make money from home maybe I could cut back at work even further and have 2 days at home with her? Or even work 7.5 hour days instead of 8.5hrs. If I can do this I'd be very comfortable with our decision for NIM to go back to uni.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

*bursts in quickly* Are you not able to work from home for one of your 4 PT days?
Also, the Dr NIM plan puts a whole other complexion on things... and also sounds slightly sinister "Mr F and Dr NIM"!!!

Come on, NIM. Smart lad like you, even I got that
I think you both know we'll all be behind you with support no matter what road you take, or what you do or don't do. So happy you seem a bit more positive this morning, Dinah!
I will, however, happily go and slap the woman who told you - a Mother already scared her daughter has a certain illness - something you really didn't need floating around in your noodle. I'm not even kidding, I'll go give her what for0 -
Cinny that girl is lucky I didn't hear her, not sure I wouldn't have slapped her myself.
I think I was looking a bit too deeply at the Mr F thing.
Also, that pic of you and rider is awesome, he's bloomin adorable. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -

I would hope that you both know that's a given! Hopefully between all of us we have covered everything you need to think about. Once you have it all straight in your mind the decision will be slightly easier
