I have lunch and wine envy now Birdie! Don't nod off!

The nice man who came to my rescue showed me how to do it myself next time but he did say it was quite heavy and I probably wouldn't be able to do it (possibly not very feminist but entirely acceptable under the circumstances!) I've also just realised that I have £200 odd put aside in a 'car' fund for events such as this - I've trained myself so well to pretend the money isn't there I'd forgotten about it! Thank you MSE! I have been sticking a bit in there every so often this year in an attempt to be more financially organised. Its finally sinking in after 4 and a bit years on this site!

So sorry to hear about the week you're having Star, take care of yourself and hope it all goes well today x

What a gent Shrimpy, nice to know that there are good people around.

Well one deadline down and I have run out of steam. Off to get some sweets and then watch telly! The next deadline is on Sunday evening, so I am going to have to spend Sunday working which is a bit pants. But then I am going to take Monday off because it's my birthday, so that will do very well instead.

Tomorrow I am off to the micro-brewery with a friend, so no chance any work will get done then. Yay! :j

(The closet WILL get done I promise).

That's pretty lucky, in an unlucky way, about your car and dream mash-up, Shrimpy! Good going on the car fund too :money:

Hope this week is a little happier for you, Star :( Sending hugs!

How did your weekend go, Birdie? I had last night to myself, and Wednesday night too as OH is in Kent. Couldn't sleep at all, got a bit of RLS going on in one desperate moment!

I'm another guilty of payday shopping sprees :o Only I've bought a variety of tat from far flung places. Like some facial mists, cute hand cream, and some dorky glasses I'm going to see if I can get "proper" lenses put in to. Got them for pennies or pounds though :money:

Oooh cute buys Cinny, loving the glasses!

My weekend was nice thanks :) Was too full on Friday night to eat my nice Chinese food though! :o Had fun wedding dress shopping with my friend on Saturday, she still can't make her mind up... she's been to about 10 shops now and is still dithering and is getting worse the more dresses she tries on! I think I picked my dress on my 2nd proper outing. My other friend who was with us chose her dress the first time she went dress shopping, and oddly it was the same dress that my SIL wore... we joked that she should just get the same one and join the club! :)

Was the mirco-brewery fun Lara? Hope you managed to meet the deadline. :) Happy Birthday! :D

Looks like Dinah, NIM and Gracie had a nice weekend looking at the FB pics! Gracie's too cute! :)

    Love the purchases Cinny.

Sounds like a good weekend Birdie. I found my dress first shop. Think i would have become really indecisive if i went loads of places.

We had a lovely weekend for Poppys birthday. Took her swimming friday and then we had a party in the garden saturday. The mums all had wine so everyone was happy :).

Happy Birthday Lara! :D And to Poppy too!

CMD that's awesome news about the drums! Well worth waiting for, what a great little chunk of money!

Hope your interview went well NIM, I'm job hunting at the mo so I feel your pain. :D

Hope you're feeling better Star, it's so hard not to feel down when such tragic things happen :(

Looks like everyone's had a good weekend! I've been job hunting and eating far too much.

Shrimpy that's so lucky about the car! Don't you love it when things like that happen?!

I have a crafty question for you knowledgeable ladies - can I use pva glue to varnish a frame that I've covered in paper? I've googled it and the answer seems to be yes but I just wanted to see if any of you have done it and is it equally good as varnish? Don't wanna go to all that effort to mess it up at the last stage! :o

Hope everyone's had a good Monday - I've been to a recruitment agency so hopefully that pays off. :)

Hey Zig, hope something good comes of the job hunt soon! :)

You can use PVA to varnish but thin it with a little water first. Start with about 2 parts PVA to 1 part water to then play around until it's a kind of 'paint' consistency (It's more or less Mod Podge when you do this). It'll look scarily cloudly when you paint it on but will dry clear. Just test it on a spare scrap of paper first to make sure that it won't make the ink run or anything. :)

Glad to hear Poppy had a good birthday Wendz! Still can't believe she's 2! :)

Thanks for the birthday wishes guys, I had a lovely day yesterday getting a haircut and doing some shopping. Need to look a bit respectable at this conference in Paris. Leaving on Saturday, can't wait! Our workshop is Sunday and then there's a few days of conference and then a little 3 day holiday. :j

    Happy birthday to Poppy, too!

Good luck with the job hunting, Zig.
