Congratulations Aunt Birdie! I saw a pic (can't remember if it was your Twitter or Fbook) and he is very very cute :)

I got stung with the postage increase on Tuesday as well, boo! My first ebaying in ages! And the fees seem to have gone up, but maybe that's just because I usually only make pennies? I was thinking of selling some clothes but I think I agree that charity shops are the way to go now.

I decided that my day zero list is pretty much redundant so have made a '30 in April' list for AA instead, am making quite good progress so far! Have been swimming this morning (aiming for at least 10 times this month to make membership worthwhile), lost two pounds last week despite a wedding on Thursday and finished a long time unfinished craft project yesterday (featuring buttons :D). I love our challenges! (especially ones that don't involve money :o)

Well done on the driving CMD, roundabouts were my nemesis!

I'm on pins today as I went for a couple of interviews for the job I mentioned last week. The agency said they're really keen and she thinks they will offer it me, but I haven't heard from them yet today (was hoping to hear Friday eve). Feel all antsy as we are short-staffed at my current place, one person has left, another is leaving in a week or so and a third handed her notice in this morning (out of a team of 7) but the new job sounds really really good.

Hope your MDF appears today Lara! We want pics! :D

  • Wow, Shrimpy is your place of work so bad. If I was managing it alarm bells would be ring. It sounds like something needs to change.

To be honest, my role is quite isolated both in terms of what I do and the physical location of my office, the rest of the team work a lot more closely together. There was an incident which I think led to two of the departures, not sure about the third. I keep out of it to be honest! But I do think there is a negative attitude in our wider department, everyone has the overworked/underpaid/woe is me outlook. I used to work in the leisure industry so their complaints hold no truck with me! To my mind this is a cushy number by comparison!

    Good luck Shrimpy!!! :T

Gah MDF lady is now saying she has no idea when the shelves will be cut or delivered? Despite saying on Friday it would be delivered today or tomorrow... I really feel like telling the boss who arrives on Friday just how bad his new staff member is.

Been a really pants day here, my computer refused to restart this morning so I have spent ages getting the data off, troubleshooting and reinstalling. It seems to be working now but what a load of unnecessary stress in the middle of two deadlines one of which is looming at 5pm. Thank goodness for geek husbands. It's book club tonight, looking forward to some wine!!

Oh no I just read some reviews for the MDF company, and they have taken loads of people's money and not delivered anything! I haven't paid luckily. Loads of people seem to have been treated the same way I have, with rudeness and lying.

The lady told me it will be delivered tomorrow but I don't believe her. If there's no delivery I guess I will just have to cancel the order. At least I insisted on cash on delivery, so I haven't lost any money. Still I don't know where else I will get this MDF cutting done.

Oh phew, glad you haven't lost any money at least Lara! Don't all hardware places like B&Q do stuff like that? (Ignore me if that's a stupid question, I never do anything like that!!)

    Any word yet Shrimpy?

Good job you haven't paid yet Lara! I'm so gullible when it comes to stuff like that, I always pay up front then worry until it turns up!

Still no word on the job. Gah!

Oh dear how annoying Lara! Good that you insisted on cash on delivery at least! Not sure what to suggest as an alternative (if B&Q don't do it), do you have any builders/timber merchants around? :) Hope you get it sorted soon, I want to see the finished item! :)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you Shrimpy! :) Looking forward to seeing photos of your craft project! :)

Off to see my little Jakey again tonight. :happyhear My brother failed to mention that SIL had a 'semi-emergency' c-section so was in hospital until yesterday! Typical men leaving important info like that out! :p Luckily she ended up in a private room so the nurses didn't get too upset to find 8 people crowded in there with her when there are signs everywhere saying that only 2 visitors are allowed at a time, also lucky that he's a happy little baby who loves a cuddle and doesn't care who provides it as we all wanted lots! :) He's got my feet too which makes me happy! :) Bad news is that OH is now extra broody! :p
