  • Obviously it's a real stress losing money when there isn't enough of it to start with, but your health has to come first rising. It's no good having enough money and you being to ill to do anything else. I'm really pleased that your work have been helpful with this as well. If 6 months recovery is what you need, then that's what you need.
Love and hugs to you ((()))

The one that really grates me is water - why should I pay the same for my water / sewerage as a family of 5 .... when I must use a fraction of what they do!
Do you not have the option of water meters in Scotland? We moved into this house 15 years ago as a family of 5 and paying water rates was the cheaper option. Now there are only the two of us, we swapped to a water meter and our direct debit has reduced from £53 a month to £20 and DH isn't the most water-frugal person I've ever met ;)

  • You're right Beanielou .. they're still not an option unfortunately - apparently because we have plenty of water they don't see the point!

Thanks all for the kind words ..... I've resigned myself to losing the money - as has been said, I need to try to get back into some sort of errrr life as just now, it's still a case of up - work - home - sleep - up - work ..... get to the weekend - sleep all day Sat, panic on Sun to try to do shopping, washing, housework .....

It's been like that for 4 months and TBH it can't go on for another 6!

I need to find a way to try to get a bit of "life" back into my life!:)

If I'm more rested (by cutting a day), hopefully I won't sleep all Saturday and can split the chores over 3 days .... and maybe start doing the odd thing now & then!

    *sigh* sounds good!

I'm on a 1/2 day tomorrow & have taken Monday as annual leave (as paperwork not sorted yet) so ...... fingers crossed after a couple of weeks, I should see a difference!

how about doing your shopping online to conserve energy?
pace your housework into 15 mins per evening each day
these could conserve you some energy for weekends

    Thanks ... you too!

Just had a fab walk with Beanie & a couple of friends & their dogs ..... she is absolutely pooped!:D

Very, very muddy - and stinky tho:(:( as we were in the woods & although it's dried up a lot .. the ditches are rank!

I really should - and you've inspired me ...... going to write myself a "household chore" list (you know how I like lists ;)) this weekend with a wee chore everyday and stick it to the kitchen cupboard (bit like you'd do for your kids!):rotfl:

So .... have decided that drastic action may be needed - not altogether happy about it but I really need to take the time off so no good grumping about it too much (not promising I won't panic / moan etc when it's this time next month tho!)

    Plan ....

    • Coin jars - if I add them all up (£2, £1, 50p, 20p) there will be near enough £100 in there ......
    • Holiday pot - really painful as a new pot ..... but .... there's £100 in there
    • CU account ..... last ditch emergency account where I stick £10 / month ...... there's £100 in there

So .... that would cover the shortfall for one month ..... *sigh*

Last resort .... there's £55 in my "rainy day" fund - I squirrel the odd £5 here where I can ..... and £54 in the bus fund (but really don't want to touch that as I'd have to rebuild before winter) .... just noticed £42 in my VSP (which I've not done for weeks sadly)

mmmmm getting down to the dregs now!

    Yup:cool::D

    Onto wash 6 ... yup 6 of dog stuff:eek:

Haven't done it for a while as its been so horrid out - so far .... 1 * towels, 1 * car duvet (not done often!), 1 * duvet covers (also used to keep floor clean!), 1 * towels given to me (asked anyone with towels they're chucking to give them to me & if I don't need them I'll give them to the rescue) unfortunately although clean they smelt smokey so given them a freshen up, 1 * inside duvet in & another load of towels to do:eek:
