  • Ohhh best of luck for tomorrow Freeby!

I know what you mean about the lugs .... I keep debating about buying a big box of them (or the sausages) at PAH as they're now cheaper there than at the market (eeeeekkkk) - but it's just such a huge outlay in one go!

Maybe the next time I get a 10% off voucher for there I will!

Yup - lazy afternoon planned but I really must take her for a decent walk somewhere ... just not looking forward to it as it's so horrid out...

I wonder what they do to the pigs ears to make them into dog chews??. I wondered if it was worth asking at a butchers and drying them out / cooking them yourself??

Just a thought, bet butchers would virtually give them away.

totally agree with that as you shouldn't feel under pressure with your treatment and they can't discriminate either under the disability act and have to make reasonable adjustments

Yup .... unfortunately (and like a lot of these sorts of things) using terms such as "reasonable" leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

It varies hugely from dept to dept in my place as what one manager thinks is reasonable may be double what another thinks is reasonable etc - it's actually really unfair on people as well eg why should person a get 10 days off but person b only get 5 days off just because they've got different managers?

I know ....... hoping it'll be gone but TBH can't see it - I (fingers crossed) rarely get things but when I do, it usually takes ages for them to clear up

I'm not sure how long you have to be "infection clear" before having it either.... :(

It's funny as I was (still am a bit TBH) dubious about how much of an effect it's having ... and am worrying about the side effects.... BUT I can say that my joints, which are usually really painful (another lovely side effect of Crohn's) have been fantastic the last few weeks :) - still sore now & then but no where near as bad (infliximab is also used to treat some kinds of arthritis) ..... but the last week .... OMG it's obviously wearing off :( - shuffling around like an old woman the past few days .... not sure if they're really worse or if it's because they've been so much better that it just feels worse.

Note to self - write list of things to take to clinic appt on Thurs (also been having a lot of nosebleeds which I rarely get usually)

your blood counts could be really low hence the pain and infection x
  • Ahhhhh hadn't thought of that - thinking about it, the joint pain probably started around the same time as the cold :o
