You've done so well Rising. Hopefully it'll get easier.

Nightmare about beach charging. Are they definitely doing it?

  • Hi Rising,

So sorry I missed your down day yesterday and was'nt around to perk you up.

Hope today is a brighter day for you and the cold isn't so bad.
Its February :T. A lovely short month :D.

Do hope you are still allowed to have your treatment next week as even though its horrible, it will be another one done with and a step further down the treatment line. ;).

    Are you at work ?
    Speak to you later xx
  • Ah you're not that far from me and I've heard that about Croydon its bad enough trying to get near the station to pick DH up the odd time.

Down the Wellesley Road is like a wind tunnel...some days when I leave my building it is a struggle to get to the bus stop without being blown into the road....it's awful!

  • Wow!

(Amazing what you can find out on the web!)

"Infliximab costs £451.20 for a single 100 mg vial. For an average adult patient with Crohn’s disease (60 kg) the cost for a single infusion at 5 mg/kg is approximately £1,350 (three vials). Vials of infliximab do not contain a preservative and so any unused portion of reconstituted solution must be discarded"

ETA and that paper was written in 2005 so I bet it's more now!

And yet .... I wasn't allowed coated steriods as they were more expensive than the uncoated ones (which gave me horrendous indigestion!)

I have to have regular hormone injections for my illness - I was told not to lose them because they are worth £400 a pop - I will never again moan about paying NI because I think I've got my moneys worth out of my contributions now :)

And yes, you are definitely worth it especially after everything it sounds like you've been through :)

  • Ohhhh and managed another E*bay sale tonight!

Only £6 but ..... every little bit and all that .....

So ... not sure whether to leave the sales money in my pay*pal account and let it build up to cover anything I need during the year ... or transfer to my bank (where it'll get swallowed by the OD!) ....

Decision for another day I think ..... night all!

I had a similar decision recently (only with £2 quid though) and decided to leave it in my PP - if I decide to list more stuff and my PP balance goes up then I will withdraw but for now I am going to leave it in there in case I get a surprise eb*y invoice or something!

Only thing though which I didn't think of at the time, was that your PP account is probably easier to hack into than your bank account so I am sure others would suggest moving stuff out of PP in case of hacking etc. As you can tell I am no expert!

  • Rightttt now I have caught up with the last couple of days....Hi everyone!!

Hope you are all well, or at least as well as can be :) I am off sick today, started on a new treatment for my own health problems yesterday and it's really messed me up so I have stayed in bed today as I am feeling rather awful.

StressedSteph I totally agree with you I love February because of its shortness! One of my favourite months. Also it starts getting lighter as well thank god!

Rising I hope you are ok and sorry to hear you're having a tough time with treatments etc :(

In other news....check the signature people....check the signature.... :):)

    That's my bragging done now......no-one likes a brag!!! :)

I'm sorry for moaning ..... my treatments are nothing compared to what you & Taxi are going through - just having a carp few days & always feel sorry for myself when I've got cold :o

Unfortunately it looks like the beach charging is going ahead :( there's 4 on there that I go to at least once a week and another 2 that are fairly regularly on our walking list!

Awwww, thanks Steph ... managed 5 hours at work today but came home and had to sleep for a couple of hours - Maisie wasn't amused :(

I actually woke myself up snoring :rotfl::o

We've just been for a walk but I'm afraid it was a pretty pathetic one as we just went to the park (usually our morning walk & I try to go somewhere nice in the afternoons) and threw her ball thing for her .... feeling guilty but just didn't have the energy to go anywhere else

Still it's the weekend tomorrow:T and I'll make sure we go to one of the lovely beaches we've got for a lovely long walk:D

I love Feb too :D - love the mornings / nights getting lighter - and it means it's the last "difficult" month for getting dog walks done in daylight for a while:T

Yup - really want the treatment done - as you say, it'll be another one done & dusted

Ohhh I'll not moan about them again :) (although I do still think the amount you pay towards dental treatment is ridiculous!)

Good luck with your treatments & hope you feel better soon xx

Ohhhh and the sig ..... :j:j:j well done!:T:T:T Def something to be celebrated!:D

Well done hun, that's fantastic :j:T
  • Well .... without TMI, I've had a good howl (one of the regulars on the pets board had to have her dog pts today:() ...... however, (and trying to look for some sort of positive) .... it seems to have cleared out the nasal passages quite well!:o

Does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of cold quickly - does a good "blowing" a few times a day get rid of it any quicker?

(I very rarely actually get anything like cold so really not sure how I can get it to go quickly)
