    Feeling a bit better now!

Yes Steph I have planned a very busy weekend of doing nothing ;)

    Quite looking forward to it!

Fingers crossed, the snow seems to be disappearing - it was supposed ot snow here all day today .... but hasn't!:T

Must do some work on budgets tho' - can't believe January has disappeared already & it's February next week  it'll be bloomin' Christmas in a month at this rate :rotfl::rotfl:

Ohhh - popped through M*and*co on the way to get the car when I finished work and they've got some lovely scarf / hat and gloves for very good prices..... they had a really nice one that was £18 reduced down to £3:T - might be worth a look for anyone looking to get pressies for next Christmas (I'm not that organised!)

Hi Rising from the ashes & belated congratulations on your debt-freeness (well apart from your OD :) )

I wonder if you wouldn't mind me subscribing to your thread and picking up tips from you/contributing where I can?

I am due to be debt free in just a few days, for the first time in my adult life, (I am 27 now) and I am quite scared about staying that way, even though I have started to organise new methods of managing my money. The totals in my signature (approx 20k) are just the last 2-3ish years....before that I had existing debt that I had almost paid off, when I fell right back into debt again - although my awful ex-boyfriend can take some credit for that as he left me in a huge financial mess and I didn't even know the extent of it until he just upped and left one day.

The bit of yours I read that made me smile was your penchant for spreadsheets and numbers and tendancy to ramble.....I am exactly the same :)

Anyway even just your first few posts have already inspired me so welldone for being so focussed and I hope I can be the same way - my boyfriend and I are now saving for a mortgage so I need all the help I can get to stay on track!

Thanks for reading and for inspiring me - and hope you don't mind me joining in :)

  • unoriginal you are very welcome to join my ramblings!:D

Just looking at your sig and .... wow! That's really amazing - well done:D it must help so much to see them at £0 :T

It's nearly payday (Mon:)) so I'm afraid there will be some budgeting *stuff* over the weekend - really want to get everything organised so I can just do the transfers on Mon (as prob won't be able to do much more after I've been to work!)

    Welcome aboard!:D

  • Thank you :) Yes it really does help - I have kept a spreadsheet which tracks everything and I update it when I make payments - it is the best feeling ever seeing the total number go down every month - WAAAYYYY better than the warm feeling I ever used to get from spending money that I didn't have!

Thanks for the welcome :) and good luck on the budgeting!! My payday isn't until Thursday *Jealous* :)

Mine shouldn't be until then either .... we're paid early as we were paid early in December - TBH I wish we weren't as it makes for 2 long months rather than just one IYKWIM!

  • Budgeting time!

    The Others one

Hopefully finally getting somewhere with this one .... just really, really need to try to stick to the budgets (this would be the one that fell down again)

No deductions needed from here for the c/card:T so the above is how it should stay for the month!

I do really, really need to go to the Opticians - been told I can't go until I've finished my steroids (this week :j) and to then wait a while (apparently they can affect your vision:eek:) - anyway, it would be towards the end of Feb at the earliest (I think!)

OK .... initially it looks pretty good:

    PetsEndJan_zpsfdbb4e48.jpg

BUT ..... I seem to have spent a lot this month :o so once the c/card is paid it's not looking so healthy!

    PetsEndJanaftercardpaid_zps2f6599a4.jpg

Must try harder :o I do have a lot of stuff for them so hopefully it should balance out - the only thing the cats will need is maybe some dry food (have been trying a new one that they seem to like!:T) - but have a fair bit of the old stuff left so may hang off buying more until that's used .... cat litter will be needed at some point in the next month. Dog .... she's pretty sorted too as just about to open a bag of her dry (should last 5 weeks(ish) and have a fair bit of her wet too :j

BUT I do have a voucher ;) for P@H which will need used this weekend mmmmm
