Last days of Giffgaff??

ChrissyG, if you haven't already, hit Report on those particularly patronising or lazy replies, it's what I do.
They're introduced a 1-5 star system for rating replies too, but alongside Kudos and Best Solution options I'm unsure what the Star system does. http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Help-Ask-the-community-got-stuck/Reach-for-the-stars-Rating-System-Explained/td-p/6986838
And yeah, the GiffGaff site being down...(I can view the Community but not log-in for some reason): I've been looking since this afternoon to top up my sister's Payback (I babysit her profile as she hates forums)..and it appears to be down. Oh dearrrr. Seems to be Goodybag/Activation problems every weekend or so from recent memory which I saw being discussed a few hours ago, too.0 -
No problems for me with Giffgaff. I have had around 10 minutes of down time in the several months I have been with them and that was a O2 problem as my friends on O2 had exactly the same down time.0

I was a Giffgaff customer for about 45 days. I experienced more data outages in those 45 days than I had with Tmobile in 2 years. Coupled with them selling me a tethering plan that I couldn't actually use on my iPhone (I had to demand a refund of the £10 for that one), I very quickly upped sticks and left.0

Based on this information, Giffgaff is poor value for you and your family
Unlimited Free calls and texts within network is commonplace these days among other virtual operators eg Ovivo, White Mobile, Icard Mobile and Talk Home Mobile. All of these are cheaper than Giffgaff and/or give you more for the same money.
I suspect Ovivo would probably meet all your family's needs as long as you get good reception on vodafone (which Ovivo uses).
Cost per month (assuming the free monthly bundle of 100 minutes, 100 texts, and 300mb is sufficient) £0 per month instead of £10 per month with Giffgaff.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
100mins & texts and 300mb is not enough for me. With GG I can now tether my tablet via my mobile which is useful.
Looking at the Ovivo website, I would have to pay £30 to get everyone set up.
Surely in 6mths time someone will be posting a thread on "Last days of Ovivo"
Experience has shown me that if it works then don't break it. The time and hassle of swapping 3 phones to another network is something I want to avoid. I'll stay where I am until GG goes pair-shaped (if ever)0 -
For me, I use much more internet data (not quite sure how I do as I have home internet, but I am quite addicted to my smartphone) than I do phone calls.
£10 a month unlimited data for nearly 2 years was a no-brainer for me (now £12 for unlimited internet, £10 for 1GB data).
I've looked at Ovivo before, as recommended by MSErs, but they didn't offer what I wanted, and didn't seem as good value.
Wish the blimmin' site would let me log-in though!!0 -
The main page now appears but has an alert:
"The site is being updated at the moment so some of the transactional pages like login, top-up or activation may not be working. For more news on the update and timings check our community notice board "
Updates here: http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Service-Updates-Notice-board/Site-Issues-08-12-2012/td-p/7002384
Edit:
Update- 23:30
The fix for this issue has been applied and the issue is currently partly resolved. The site will work fine for now, although it may be a bit slow, while we work on bringing things up to full speed. We are also aware of some issues with the iPhone app that may be related. The tech team will be working on this throughout the night and the next update will come in the morning.0 -

It's all good here, just logged into all three of my accounts, got in first time, everything is as it should be. Perhaps the 'gremlins' are yours?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
