Is that the guy that caused the Times to be sued by Michael Foot for Libel?

Mad as a box of frogs

Even by your usual flippant standards that is rubbish.
You simply try to divert attention from the established fact of profound communist influence in the British trade union movement, which you had tried to pretend was scaremongering, by attacking a single source.
However what you are also concealing is the following: (I've lifted this from Wikipedia):
"In The Daily Telegraph in 2010 Charles Moore gave a "full account", which he claimed had been provided to him by Gordievsky shortly after Foot's death, of the extent of Foot's alleged KGB involvement. Moore also wrote that, although the claims are difficult to corroborate without MI6 and KGB files, Gordievsky's past record in revealing KGB contacts in Britain had been shown to be reliable."
Foot's lucky break in court reminds me of nothing so much as Liberace successfully suing Cassandra for saying he was homosexual. Everyone knew he was, but how could you actually prove it?
It is also worth noting that Gordievski (again from Wikipedia): "...was appointed Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) for "services to the security of the United Kingdom" in the 2007 Queen's Birthday Honours (in the Diplomatic List)"
Pretty clear how 'mad' he was then, isn't it?
Now, how about all those communists at present and past work in the union movement, StevieJ? The ones you are trying to pretend don't exist?0 -
Welcome to Jackanory
Badger McCarthy will be reading the story for today, Children.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
Don't waste your time Badger, Steviej has a closed mind & spouts nothing but garbage regardless. I've never read a single post of his/hers that hasn't been worthless. Basically just a winker.0

You're right of course, but there is an important point of principle here.
The liars who deny or excuse the support given to Soviet and Soviet-style communism are always the first to shriek about "fascism" and yet they either support, or excuse those who support, an ideology which directly resulted in the slaughter of up to 100 million people - maybe more.
Can you imagine the justifiable outrage if people posted on this forum either defending or excusing those who defended, Hitler?
And, of course, that could never happen because the moderators would ban anyone who tried.
There is nothing 'cool' or 'hip' about communism. It kills people, just as surely as its Nazi dancing partner.0 -

You generalise about communism and invent conspiracies where non exist. Anybody can dredge up stories about named union members and their communist links. Many of these people were smeared by the establishment due to the paranoia of the Cold War. We also all know the role of the press in this the Lord Beaverbrooks, Mail, Express etc ......
You say communism kills people....... capitalism doesn't I suppose? Ever read anything about the capitalist exploitation of Africa over the last 200 years?....or doesn't it sit comfortably with the world view?0 -
There is no need to invent anything - the facts are well known and well established. Anyone with Google can confirm them them in five minutes.
The only people who wish to deny them are those who support the same Marxist goals.0 -

It appears that Michael Foot agreed with you. BTW why weren't all these spies tried for Treason? But what the Sunday Times said was so serious - that I was a spy who had served one of the most wicked organisations that has existed this century - I thought it had to be wiped clear."'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Now, now, SteveieJ, there is no need to put words in my mouth. I didn't say they were all spies - though some clearly and indisputably, were: Jack Jones for one. The rest are just open or allegedly former supporters of communism.
Which ones do you dispute?0
